Several threads out there on this running now. It’s nothing new for this Congressman. He has done this every congress going back to the 90s which included all of GWB presidencies. Others have done likewise.

Yep, lets fight the real battles instead of worrying about something that doesn't stand a snowballs chance of ever becoming reality. Although I'm sure the “sky is falling” hand-wringers will be here in few minutes to explain the super evil genius Obama has some secret plan to get this through congress and get a bunch of red states to approve it. (the same super evil genius Obama that couldn't get his jobs bill through a Republican congress and barely got a gutted healthcare bill through with supermajorites...)

Serrano wrote this bill four years ago. It went nowhere in 2009. He just changed the date and resubmitted it.

The ought to be some sort of penalty when a congressman introduces a bill that has zero chance of even getting to the floor for a vote...
