A Leftist journalist named Nathan Lean, the editor-in-chief of Aslan Media, who has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post and New York Daily News, has sent me several tweets and emails containing personal information about myself: where he thinks I live, who he thinks my wife is, and more.
The purpose of these messages was unmistakable: Lean was signaling to me that he thought he knew my whereabouts (and that of my family), despite my attempts to conceal them because of the many death threats I receive. And why would he want me to think that he knew where I was? So that I would be frightened into silence, afraid that one of his many violence-inclined allies might do me in if I continued to speak out for freedom and human rights. Yet despite his appetite for menace, Lean had no trouble getting published in flagship mainstream media outlets -- which tells you a great deal about them.
In the 1930s, when the National Socialist German Worker's Party, aka the Nazi Party, was consolidating its power in Germany, its storm troopers regularly terrorized its opponents: showing up when they spoke to shout them down and intimidate them, vandalizing their messages, and sometimes attacking them outright. We are rapidly approaching the same situation in America today, as the Left's demonization of its opponents descends to this menacing new level.
The Westchester Journal News does not have the moral high ground, and never did. Any doubt about that was removed when it published the addresses of the gun owners. But soon thuggish demonstrators outside the homes of those gun owners...

I don’t know anybody in my community that doesn’t have a bunch of guns in their home and we don’t have CCWs or any gun permits in Alaska. I must be living where I belong.

The Left believes that it’s at war... with capitalism, with history, with reality, and with G-d. In their war, they see themselves as the underdog, fighting for a golden future against the forces of darkness.

You have to have a handgun permit here in Michigan but we have both open and concealed carry. Anybody can have a shotgun or rifle and there are a lot of them here.

Insane people can injure & kill with weapons of any kind. Even shooting off information into the public arena that can endanger not just the folks the info is about, but everyone in the society, including the info-shooter themselves who were apparently not thinking sanely at the time they shot off the info into the public arena.
Side question... Is it bad to keep my .223 rounds loose in the ammo can as opposed to boxed in the original packaging? I don’t want to spend a lot of time unboxing them later.

It’s interesting to me in that I was just reading a novel that had a character saying something that really resonates with me about what I am seeing in the news/blogs and commentaries today about gun-control.
It is: “Why is it that people like you always think you’re more ruthless than people like me?”
The people that want to control every aspect of our lives think that they have either cowed everyone of their opponents or that we will meekly walk into the concentration/extermination camps because fighting back is so un-civilized. It isn’t so, but their life experiences lead then to believe that. What they should be deathly afraid of is when the “Civilized” population sets aside that facade and unleashes the wolverine that has been leashed.
But then, it will be too late.... for them that is. Once that genie is out of the bottle it will be nigh impossible to cram it back inside. But as usual they will push and grasp for their goal of total control because their hearts’ desire is just in reach.
The cost will be horrendous I fear, and all because of that greedy desire.

Make no mistake about it, the Left harbors deep seated contempt for conservatives whom they view as greedy and uncaring neanderthals. Liberals view themselves as moral and intellectual superiors and therefore entitled to dictate to and control the "feral savages".

Once upon a time, political opponents could agree to disagree, then go out for a beer together after the vote. They all had the same goal, just different ways to approach it.

You’re right. One of the reasons Free Republic remains a place I like to go to is the relative absence of commonly written vulgarisms. Not that I’m a prude; I have tossed a few F bombs around with the best of them. However, it’s nice to have intelligent discussion in which people actually use adjectives and adverbs that have nothing to do with excretory or sexual function or questionable parentage. Or all three.
I can also respect you typing “G-d” as you do. I’m Jewish, and those of us I know about who are faithful are asked not to mention the name of the creator - and your wording is quite like their own.
I sometime act in the role of grammar police - I’m a high school English teacher in my real life - but how you worship and express it is your business alone.

It is a mark of respect many American Christians have picked up from the Orthodox Jewry's tradition of not writing out the Name of God.
It a practice that seems to be particularly prevalent among Evangelicals with a great love for Jews and Israel. Perhaps so as not to give offense to the "Older Brethren."
