After getting nowhere in the Senate, the gun controllers have taken their campaign to destroy your rights to the Illinois House. Earlier today, Amendment #1 to SB2899 was introduced in the Illinois House of Representatives. Sponsored by rabidly anti-gun Rep. Eddie Acevedo, the amendment would do two things to you:
1. It would pick your pocket to pay for the confiscation and destruction of your own guns.
2. It would ban more than 50% of the rifles and more than 80% of handguns owned by Illinois citizens.
THIS BILL WILL BE VOTED ON BY THE HOUSE JUDICIARY 1 COMMITTEE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON – YOU MUST ACT NOW!

Illinois is not a state to lay down their guns.
Read. They pulled it in the Senate but introduced it in the House.
So, correct me if I’m wrong, but if passes in the House but not the Senate it can’t be signed into law. Is that correct? If so, then why try and pass it in one house and not the other?
They are pulling out the stops to get this though by hook or crook. They can be stopped if voters put enough fear in those who were reelected.
They are desperate because they have a court order to institute a concealed carry permit system, and they see this as a last ditch to disarm the citizens.
Defeat them here, and they will be disheartened on the national level. This is the time to push hard, when we have lots of cards to play with and numbers and time on our side.
Use your phone now, to prevent Churchillian alternatives later. A phone call or two is easy. Trying to repeal a draconian law is hard.

I think anyone that voted for Obama should not be allowed to to own guns. Guns should be kept out of the hands of those who are mentally incompetent. We have seen where this leads and it must be stopped.
The limousine elites with their personal entourages of highly armed private contractor security are behind the agenda and push to disarm average law abiding Americans. They want the power and they want your money and pensions too, and they want you to be totally dependent on an unanswered 911 call for your security.

There's no way this passes. Downstate Democrats are as protective -- if not moreso than the RINO Republican's in this state -- of their guns.

It might be even more stinging to call them “gun renters”, but we surely need for someone to point out the hypocrisy every time they open their mouths.
It’s going no where. This is just political cover for when the IL liberals are “forced” to pass CC by the courts. Illinois is never what it seems. This isn’t the Land of Lincoln, but the Land of Illusions.

What is the point? The number of people who actually support "gun control" are a tiny minority of the population. They have no significant number of votes. It makes much more sense to see this as a last minute desparation ploy by those ideologues who want the rest of us disarmed.
Not time for that quite yet. The tar and feathers must come first so their next public pronouncements will be made sans hair and eyebrows.

What is the point? They’ll need political cover. The money and votes from the areas these politicians are from do support gun control. This won’t pass and it’s against the national trend and the trend in law. Even liberal legal scholars admit that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right with very, very few limitations.
Why are they pushing same-sex marriage at the same time? Didn’t anybody count the votes or set this up in advance? It’s a political ploy.
