" Zamira Osorio said that her family felt discriminated against "

Since when is enforcing laws " discrimination"?

I’d be more up in arms over this part.

I’ll wager that she never figured the odds of this happening. Too bad they didn’t also deport the daughter, but “let” her stay thanks to the dream act.

And who cares what she thinks, for that matter.

“Federal law requires that winners of $1200 or more show identification for tax purposes.”

Good grief!

In 1978 the threshold was $2000.....

What is this Dream Act to which they refer? Or are they talking about the deliberate failure by the president to enforce US immigration laws?

And in 1978, 2,000 dollars was worth more than 2,000 dollars today.

Quite honestly, I don’t quite believe this. Within days of that $1200 single-jackpot limit law going into effect, slot-machine manufacturers came up with the idea of $1199 jackpots. I really can’t believe that there is actually a $1200 single-jackpot payout anywhere in the USA.

I thought the standard amount was $600. Besides, don’t ya have to be a ‘legal’ to play and win. As in a legal resident, alien, or visitor.

The child could not have been allowed to stay in the country due to the DREAM Act because it has never become law. But the president has created his own law based upon some aspects of the Dream Act. He is deliberately not enforcing the law. He is a dictator of convenience.
