Connecticut Lawmaker Introduces Bill to Publish Names, Addresses of Gun Permit Holders

Connecticut State Representative Stephen D. Dargan (D-New Haven), co-chairman of the state’s Public Safety Committee, has introduced a bill that would make public the names and addresses of gun permit holders in Connecticut under the state’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Dargan’s bill is in response to the Dec. 14th shootings in the Sandy Hook School in Newtown, CT, and also occurs as a Westchester County, NY newspaper, the Journal News, is drawing widespread, nationwide anger for publishing a map with the names and addresses of gun permit holders. The bill, if passed, would reverse the state legislature’s decision, made nearly two decades ago, to protect gun permit holders' personal information from disclosure.

So, I guess it would be “cool” with State Representative Dargan if I were to use public records to list his home address, telephone number, automobile license plate numbers, etc...

Dargan sounds like a hardcore Nazi. He’s putting people’s lives in danger. I guess he doesn’t really give a ——. He needs to be voted out as soon as possible.

Anyone else notice how Liberals are lashing out in a vindictive and petulant manner?

They believe that the reelection of Obama means that they get to rule over everyone else.

It is not hard to see how this will devolve because people are not going to put up with this bullying and the Leftists are spoiling to get a bloody nose.

#1 unintended consequence:

The bad guys, now knowing where the “home defense” is in place, have only to hit the houses two or three doors away, to be assured of entry and easy pickings.

That victim is going to be very angry that the “business” was pushed his way.

And of course, it was all the gun owner’s fault.

Good going, A-Hole:

1) Bad guys would know which houses were completely unarmed
2) Retired police officers who still have weapons would have their families in jeopardy
3) Anyone with a legal weapon also would have their lives in jeopardy

If I was not a gun owner, I wouldn’t my congressman to tell the world I am not armed and cannot protect myself, my family and property.

From Dargan's web site:

I'm sure Dargan wants to see MUCH more of this.

Harrassment - if not political terrorism - proposed by a Democrat in elected office. Those of you who aren't getting our wonderful "democracy" good and hard yet, you'll eventually be getting your chance with an upcoming crisis that can't go to waste.

This is Alinsky, raw & in your face.

Isolate, ostracize, stigmatize. Make your class target wear the scarlet letter or the yellow six pointed star.

Then send in the Gestapo.

Every legislator’s name adress and phone is public information...we can make that an interactive map too.

While, yes, a permit holder’s name is technically public info, one who want to know does have to do some work to find it.

The proposals like this nazi is pushing amount to little more than harrassment. OTH: it tells the bad guys who ISN’T armed. A regular lead service for robbers...

I've got a picture of Dargan's condo all marked and ready to go, subject to Jim Robinsons approval.

It's all at ZABASEARCH,

But no doubt he can expect police protection.

Not to mention people that armed themselves against an ex boyfriend or ex husband, have moved to get away from them, and have tried to ‘hide’.

They are now in plain view.....

They already publish the names and addresses of gun permit holders in Michigan. Telephone numbers too!

It’s called the phone book. Most of us are armed, permits or not. If the Libs don’t like it, tough sh1t, we aren’t asking their permission.

You thought that up all by yourself? Tell me Einstein, how does one “not register” your firearms? Have you lived in America since 1968 or so? Every time you buy a weapon it gets registered. Are you advocating stealing weapons?
