The Obama administration eased the way Wednesday for illegal immigrants who are immediate relatives of American citizens to apply for permanent residency, a change that could affect as many as 1 million of the estimated 11 million immigrants unlawfully in the U.S.
A new rule issued by the Department of Homeland Security aims to reduce the time illegal immigrants are separated from their American families while seeking legal status, immigration officials said.

The US does not have a parlimentary system. Congress members serve their full terms and get voted out or get impeached.
When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?
Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.
Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.
Americans can’t own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash they’ll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the “fresh”. That’s just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea let’s give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections

In fact, that first meeting between the Senate and the new emperor established a blueprint for their later interaction. Throughout his reign, Tiberius was to baffle, befuddle, and frighten the Senators. He seems to have hoped that they would act on his implicit desires rather than on his explicit requests. Again, this behavior may have been an attempt to imitate Augustus’s careful and tactful use of auctoritas, but, if so, it backfired and became a pathetic charade. Tiberius’s opinion of the revered body as it struggled with his oblique approach to rule was not high: “Men fit to be slaves.”

Chicago-area immigration reform advocates greeted the Obama administration policy shift that will allow many here illegally to remain with their families while seeking legal status as a welcome step toward an eventual overhaul of federal immigration laws.
“We’re hopeful that all of this portends a bigger improvement to the immigration system,” said Lisa Koop, a managing attorney with the Chicago-based National Immigrant Justice Center.
Several thousand people in the Chicago area stand to benefit from the new rule, which makes it easier for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens to apply for permanent residency by allowing them to sign up for a “provisional unlawful presence waiver” while still in this country.
