While Chicago, given its demographics, will always be a violent city Emanuel has overseen a significant worsening of the problem.

In 2009, Chicago homiccides were down almost 11%. They were down 6% in 2010. They were down 1% in 2011 - Emanuel took office almost halfway through that year - but the rate was lower in the first non-Emanuel half of the year.

In his first full year in office, the hopmicide rate is up 19%.

He's had 17% more murders in his first year and a half in office than his predecessor had in his final 18 months.

There is policy involved, not just randomness.

The 2010 Census puts Chicago's non-Hispanic white population at 32%, its black population at 33% and its Hispanic population (both "white" and "non-white") at 30% with Asians making up the remaining 5%.

Addendum

The neighborhood I referred to as 'Back Of The Yards', the NY Slimes map has labeled as, 'New City'. They're pretty much basically one in the same. The old Police District for where I grew up was called (back in my yute) the 'New City Precinct'. It was located on West 47St in 'The Back of The Yards' -- see what I mean.

The fact is there are few 'white neighborhoods' left in Chicago. There's Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast, the ones in the far North and Northwest sides, and in the far Southwest side like Mt Greenwood, and in the Southeast side's Hyde Park. [Wait.. Hyde Park are mostly commies and always has been so shouldn't that be 'red' or 'other'? (not joking)]
But the Tan shaded (cough) 'white neighborhoods' (cough) like McKinley Park and Brighton Park ain't exactly what one would call 'white'. Those two neighborhoods are 97%-98% Brown, or more accurately -- Mexican. And not those nice hard-working Mexicans 'doing the jobs us lazy American refuse to do'. No siree Bob, they're now below poverty level Gang-Bangin' Mexican Barrios all living off government freebies. And that'd be from us!

You see....it's how they do 'communities' these days. If you are self aware, independently motivated, educated, embrace the realities and challenges that life brings and demonstrate moral integrity......then you really aren't part of the community.

Overwhelmingly the MSM are full of claims that black Americans are 24/7 victims of white America.

Crimes of violence. This source is from a US DoJ regular survey of 75,000 (I think is the number) crime victims -- not directly from police reports.

The numbers are extrapolated and will not match exactly but do comport with the police records.

That 'white' isn't 'white'. It's 'white' like the FBI Hate Crime Stats are 'white'. That comes from 'Latinos' checking a box saying 'White Hispanic' on some form. Magically the 'Hispanic', and very convenient 'People of Color' bullshit, disappears. They love playing their friggen race card game as they see fit for what gives them the most advantage when.

And I'd gladly drop you off in some of those 'white neighborhoods' -- like Gage Park which I didn't address -- at 9:00pm with ~~$50~~ $20 Bills hanging out of your pockets, or just wearing some of those new Air Jordan kicks, but I don't want to be responsible for your murder.

It’s even worse than that. Rahm is not just *allowing* black people to kill each other and die. He is *encouraging* black people to kill each other and die.

Vigilantism begins when either the government does not protect the people from criminals, or worse, when government takes the side of criminals against the people.

Gun control is effectively the latter of these two conditions, because the criminals retain their guns, but the honest citizenry are left defenseless against them.

While mob violence and hanging has long been unfairly associated with vigilantism, the truth is that vigilantism movements only use violence as a last resort, after countless legal actions and petitions to government are either ignored, or despised and labeled as criminal defiance of their rule.

Such governments are invariably corrupt in many ways, and more than willing to use their power to subvert the voting process. Eventually, when a vigilantism movement emerges, it discovers that it must not only contend with the criminals, but the government that supports the criminals.

Based on those stastics, there is a simple resolve.....Ban Blacks from owning firearms, that might level the field. (sarc)

The official "white" number is 45%, but when "white Hispanics" are removed it is 31.7%.

Very kind of you. I'm not claiming that Gage Park (which is basically a Maratrucha neighborhood now) is "white."

I'm pointing out that there is no majority ethnic group in Chicago (as opposed to your claim that there is a "Latino" majority) and that the city is roughly one-third white, one-third black and one-third Hispanic.

The Chicago-area Census workers were highly motivated to overcount minorities and undercount whites in order for the city to qualify for the maximum amount of federal funding.

The incentive is the opposite of what you are implying.
