Freedom to name your own kid . . . I’m pretty sure that trumps a state’s arbitrary desire to “preserve” its “culture,” however the state defines “culture.”

I'm not saying I agree with it from a freedom standpoint, just that it is not based on control of the people. It is based on preserving the culture.
And the people voted for it and support it. Iceland has the oldest continuously functioning democracy on the planet.
