Signs and Wonders: Hannity ratings drop, debt ceiling, minimum wage hikes, spirituality
World ^ | Jan. 2, 2013 | Warren Cole Smith

Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity predicted a Mitt Romney landslide in the presidential election. When that didn’t happen, Hannity’s audience abandoned him in droves. According to Nielson numbers, Hannity has lost about half of his audience since the election. This sort of drop is not unusual. News shows generally have higher ratings in the months leading up to elections. But compare Hannity’s numbers to Fox colleague Bill O’Reilly’s. O’Reilly lost about 30 percent of his audience. Both Hannity and O’Reilly still have numbers that top 2 million viewers per night, so they’re still cable powerhouses. But Rachel Maddow on liberal MSNBC will now occasionally beat Hannity. This ratings reversal would have been unthinkable just a few months ago, when Hannity regularly had an audience two or even three times that of Maddow’s.

I saw the news that Hannity's rating are in the crapper. This article is the only one that's not from a radical far-left Regressive source.

In my opinion, the reasons for Hannity's plunge are simple- he's repetitive, he's good buddies with "good friends" Bob Beckel and Juan Williams or "The Architect" Karl Rove. Even John Sununu "The One Man Romney Wrecking Crew", turns out he didn't wreck much of anything.

Finally, he kept on saying "this election is the most important election of our lifetimes". However, the next day he was carrying on like it was no big deal. Then I remembered- 2004 "was the most important election of our lifetimes", then 2008 "was the most important election of our lifetimes.....

Finally, he needs to stop driving trains. In 2006, he had the "stop Pelosi Express", in 2008 he had the "Stop Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi Express"...same thing in 2012. Turns out all those trains got derailed.

Maybe next time, he needs an AC-130 Gunship.

Several syndicated radio shows like Hannity were running best of shows yesterday. I tuned into a couple of times to hear them discussing how Romney was going to landslide Obama. It made me sick to my stomach.

I am sure ratings for shows about the NFL drop after the Super Bowl. Good grief.

He had a pile of liberals on as guest hosts the other day.
It was like listening to NPR.

I haven’t watched the TV show for years, it really was the same show every single night.
The radio show, has horrible callers, weird guests, and incoherent blather. If anything said is good it is almost identical to what Limbaugh said the hour before.

Lightweight copyist. I wish Mark Levin would finally diss him. Mark thinks Savage copies him but boy Hannity is the worst.

Well, quite frankly, there are quite a few conservatives out there who realized after the election that they had been getting their a$$es pumped full of sunshine and bull$hit by the Hannity/Morris/Rove trio for the past couple years and also realized the we do ourselves no favors by sitting in an echo chamber 24/7 where we can delude ourselves into believing everybody supports conservative ideas and agrees with us and Obama 2008 was just a fluke.

Actually, part of the reason I seldom watch Hannity anymore is that I seldom watch FoxNews anymore. I, like you, am tired of being forced to endure lies in the name of “balance.”

I look at a balanced argument as two or more sides stating their positions based on facts and honest (fact-based) opinions. But Fox really doesn't force it's liberal voices to back up what they say with fact. So, what we end up is conservatives trying to argue based on fact, while liberals simply make up crap as an opposing argument.

Juan Williams is the “poster child” for straw-man arguments and inane, fabricated “facts.” Beckel is no better.

I want arguments based on facts. And while Fox is better than most networks, the liberal liars on Fox are no better or different than the liberal liars on MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, et al.

the reasons for Hannity's plunge are simple- he's repetitive,

I quit listening to him years ago (pre-2008) for that very reason. Same ole 3 hours a day, every day.

More recently, I have been listening to Levin in the late afternoons. He is getting to be the same way.

Many of these talkshows hosts have a small universe of material they use. That is okay for occasional listening, but becomes tedious when it is the same old stuff day after day.

Repeating talking points is boring and insults viewers intelligence. He’s also a weak debater.

I agree. Hannity just parrots what is on before, and repeats it ad nauseum. He also tolerates the most obnoxious callers and tries to reason with them. Some people are beyond reason, and should be told off the way Boortz and Levin tell them off.

I have gotten sick of listening to him, same crap everyday, same guests all the time. How often can you hear the same show over and over. He claims to be a “Conservative” and big supporter of the TEA Party but when is the last time someone from our side was on his show? It’s like groundhog day with his show.

I don't think the ratings just fell all of a sudden..I for one stopped watching his show when he got to full of himself..Same with O’Reiley both let the popularity get to big for them..

It was not just this man that predicted Romney would win by a land slide if some admit it thought Romney would beat the Muslim..The cheating liberals had it all set up and lots of dead, and felons, illegals, etc..voted so the Communist Muslim got in the white house again..I won't say won because he didn't he cheated his way in again and will do so again if he could..

Hannity’s ratings stink because he’s the voice of the GOP, and people have had enough of both him and the Party. As far as I’m concerned, he and “The Architect” can go Boehner themselves.

Hannity. like all the other Conservative mouthpieces - including Rush - need to step away from their microphones and run. Run, that is, for public office.
Time to put their money where their mouths have been. If Al Franken can do it - so can they.
