Two years ago I moved within South Carolina to be closer to my son’s school. It wasn’t until election time that I realized I had left Clyburn’s territory! Yessssss!

Something must be wrong with the list???? It looks like all 11 VA Reps, Dem & Repub's voted against the bill. That's great, but there are some far left Dem's from VA. Hey, I'm happy! Cantor - R

Connolly - D

Forbes - R

Goodlatte - R

Griffith - R

Hurt - R

Moran - D

Rigell - R

Scott - D

Wittman - R

Wolf - R

Still, we have about 95 Republican members of Congress to be looked into for the possibility of being driven out at the next primary. Many of them ~ the majority actually ~ are from states where we might well want to EXCLUDE the whole Republican party apparatus from the NEW Republican Party. California, New York ~ the usuals

It looked to me like Ca had more Reps vote against this bill than for it. I noticed that at least one that voted "aye" has already been districted out - Bilbray. Issa, Hunter, McClintock voted "nay". Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.... You won't find a more conservative guy than Tom McClintock.

well....

Aug 22, 2012 – President Obama tells Congress he’ll extend a 2-year-old federal worker pay freeze through April 2013.

So it really is just a political stunt, depends on how long ago people can remember.

he basically was just unfreezing something he froze a while ago.

but looking FURTHER back, the house themselves vote that freeze in back in Feb 2012.

this is all a political show to them.

maybe he can move somewhere else. it's good that he's in Congress but it's bad that California is no longer providing a NATIONAL presence ~ in terms of electoral votes, governor, 2 senators ~ and appears unable to put Republicans into the state legislature!!!

It may be time to pull the party out of California and with it the aqueduct ~ keep that water for the states where the few remaining Republicans will move.

must have missed something ~ revenue bills still start in the House ~ the Republicans have a majority ~ the Democrats can literally be ignored as long as that's the constitutional rule. The reason is the Speaker decides what legislation will get voted on ~ so even an amended bill sent over from the Senate gets queued up ~ and if he doesn't queue it up it's just like it doesn't exist.

If the minority can convince enough members of the ruling party to sign up, they can try to move things with a discharge petition.

This morning we are finding out from Peter King that the House didn't take up a bill to give my tax dollars to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire and Delaware on account of Hurricane Sandy.

King is mad as a wet hen. Apparently he was momentarily distracted with the Obama Tax Increase and thought they would vote for everything. Well, the next Speaker (Thursday's the day guys), may well remind New Yorkers that fiscal prudence on their part might have given them the funding necessary to take care of their own disasters!

Two rules ~ Democrat voting is always way down at the midterms. Last one (2010) about half of them just stayed home ~ which is truly phenomenal.

Republican voting is always down, but by about half the margin of the Democrats UNLESS there's a big scandal in the party involving 2 or more homosexuals or pedophiles.

Might get that stuff out of the way early ~ like the Democrats did Masa where it looks like they had a double-header underway with just one guy!

Remember, the Democrats buy off gays ~ doesn't mean they like them. But Republican voters have a fairly large faction who won't show up if they think the gays are running the party.

I think Romney and McCain suffered from some of that ~ by about 4 million voters worth.

Well, the next Speaker (Thursday’s the day guys), may well remind New Yorkers that fiscal prudence on their part might have given them the funding necessary to take care of their own disasters!

Once again, and unfortunately for us, the area worst hit by Hurricane Sandy was Staten Island which is one of the few Republican strongholds in the New York city area. So, withholding Sandy funding is just going to tick them off bigtime against the Pubs. Another lose/lose situation where the Pubs are put in an untenable political position.

Seriously, unless New York’s Republicans can come up with a Senator they don’t have much of a national presence of relevance to us. After all, anybody can be a Democrat.

Really? How difficult is it, since all the cameras/etc. were there after the cliff fiasco to go on the mic and say “I will gladly have this called for a vote, when all the pork is stripped from the bill or funding is found for the expenditures. This bill would gut the savings we just voted on 5 minutes ago.”

If I can do that in 1 min. why wouldn’t our ‘highly educated betters’ not do better?
