‘No ma’am’: Letter from U.S. Marine to Dianne Feinstein goes viral

The following letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston and headlined “No ma’am.,” was posted in the CNN iReport on Dec. 27 with the included note from the producer and photo. It has struck a nerve with many and is being circulated around social media venues like Twitter and Facebook.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps
2004-2012

I missed it, where in the letter does he detail his attitude toward a woman or women in general?

Maybe he isn’t the prejudiced one.

Best line of the letter:That's gonna leave a big mark.

Rush made a large point about this recently. Congresscritters have gotten way, way to uppity. They are there only because of our vote. They are there to serve us.

The content of this letter, and it’s intent is NOT right-wing gun nut talk.

Although that is the ‘medium’ used.

This letter is all about refusal to respect, obey, or submit to liberal/socialist demands and philosophy.

Too bad it will spun by the media as gun nut rantings.

Gun Show and Gun Shop emptying is not also not really about guns, but to make that same statement loudly and clearly.

"Wold" is actually a word, it seems.

wold 1. an elevated tract of open country. 2. Often, wolds. an open, hilly district, especially in England, as in Yorkshire or Lincolnshire.

Probably not one in a million people in this country have ever heard it used or used it in a sentence.

Going to war changes people and the changes rub deep. Remember the good times when he acknowledged his love and desire to protect you.

The young Marine will find his own way home.

Powerful words. But, unfortunately they mean nothing to powerful people to whom we have given eminent domain over our lives.

One thing I have noticed about soldiers, police officers, and firefighters that put their lives on the line on a regular basis; they all believe in God. I think there’s good reason for this; they are both protectors and men of honor. Our current administration would do well to learn from them. God bless them all! They’re an honor to our country and we are proud of them whether they’re a cook or a navy seal or if they’ve served 1 year or 30 years

The gun grabbers never ever consider that criminals are just that, criminals. They do not obey laws.

The criminal class laughs at those who comply. They are easy pickings for the criminal.

> The letter is well put ! I am sure when she sees it, I am sure some form of reprisal will go to this former Marine’s direction.

And when it does it will backfire on them to show them for what they really are. So go ahead let’em. Just let us know what they do so it can be broadcast all over the Internet.

“defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic.”

Yes, I swore that same oath upon being hired as a civilian for DoD work for the Navy (1973). I was always aware that I had done so. A few years ago, when they were shipping personnel folders to some other location, I reviewed mine, and asked for a copy of the form with my signature on that oath. Then sadly I realized that if I posted it on my office door, I would be catagorized as some nut.

When I retired, they did not ‘read me out’ of that oath.

That oath is still in effect. It is my duty as a citizen to uphold it. It should be the duty of all citizens, whether sworn, or not.

Excellent, but instead of “Respectfully submitted” he should have closed “With all due respect”, which in this case would be none, but he’s still observed etiquette, and what he says is only insulting if she doesn’t think she has any coming, so no one can nail him for it.

What does it say when our government, which was founded on the principle - as Abraham Lincoln reaffirmed - of being one of, by, and for the people, is peopled with such as Dianne Feinstein, who is so afraid of those who pay for her (very expensive) upkeep and who seems to have forgotten who serves whom and according to what principles? I am afraid that she (and others like her) has lived a life of power and privilege for so long that she actually thinks she is different than mere citizens.

Arrogance seems to be the most valued attribute among the D.C. elite. In fact, if you compared all actor/singer/celebrity types, all media types, and all professional political types, it would be difficult to determine which group is more steeped in arrogance and self-importance.

And these are the leaders and trend-setters of our society. No wonder that the nation as a whole is so badly off.

“That’s pretty much how most Americans feel. She is in trouble if she thinks she can pull this off. Let her try. It will be her undoing!”

Her husband is responsible for building substandard VA hospitals. He should have been sent to prison years ago.

Nothing will happen to her.

Absolutely correct.

It is the form of voting that can not be subjected to communist agenda “liberal progressives” illegal, immoral and blatant fraud.

You saw it with the “Chick-fil-A” vote.

You saw it with the 2009 “Washington Mall TEA Party” vote.

You saw it with the “not setting up State health care exchange” vote.

You are seeing it with the “gun sales” vote.

I expect we will see, if it is decreed by Executive Order, the “I will not register my guns” vote.

No sir, there is no fraud possible in those votes.

Those votes are quite real.

Godebert: “I don't respect any man that served the Usurper.”

Marines do not serve the President, we serve the Country and the Constitution.

What branch of service were you in, sir?

None, I suspect.
