‘No ma’am’: Letter from U.S. Marine to Dianne Feinstein goes viral

The following letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston and headlined “No ma’am.,” was posted in the CNN iReport on Dec. 27 with the included note from the producer and photo. It has struck a nerve with many and is being circulated around social media venues like Twitter and Facebook.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps

I am a 65 year old, disabled man.

I am armed.

I have no debt.

I have a substantial life insurance policy with proceeds going to my wife.

I served in the United States Army Reserve, retiring with time in grade as a Captain.

One of my hobbies is long-range varmint hunting—my longest kill so far is 475 yards.

I am a Christian, and will go to be with my Lord when I die.

I love my country, but despise what it has become.

I got this letter emailed to my twice today. I wonder what the government’s response would be if a few million or so wrote a similar letter.

The government's answer: "LOL!"

This needs to inscribed in stone somewhere - preferably in Washington, D.C.

“My rights and liberties were given by God, not by some teenaged mercenary in the Usurper’s army.”

I don’t know who you are, but after reading some of your asinine comments that badmouth our voluntary military troops, I don’t want to know. You and others like you have besmirched the honor of our military troops and deserve to be banned from this site!

I am bringing 44 years experience living with a man who could sound as respectful as this man most of the time, but after what he said I began to see subtle signs just like what I see in this letter.

Way too sensitive. Women really say stupid things too. I’m sure you were perfect

Obama looks disgusted to be doing that.

Diane Frankenstein is just one IQ number and an elevated pair of boots higher than Barbara Boxer, the mental midget of the Senate (and one stinking egomaniac too).

If Feinstein were my only living relative, I would throw myself on the mercy of the court to declare me an orphan. Much more self-respect that way.

Mistake me not: if called upon to do battle for my country, to chance death, to dare dismemberment, to hope for victory without assurance that it will come or that I will see it, I am ready.

To stand in front of the barricades, with nothing but a Gadsden-bearing flagstaff in my hands, shouting at the enemy “shoot me, emmer-effers! Shoot me now!” — that would require the assurances referenced above.

I am afraid that she (and others like her) has lived a life of power and privilege for so long that she actually thinks she is different than mere citizens.

I'd have to agree with her on that. Why? Do you think she's as good as those of us with productive jobs?

"Wold" is actually a word, it seems. ... Probably not one in a million people in this country have ever heard it used or used it in a sentence.

It's used in America, specifically in Arkansas. It's a physiographical term, used (in Arkansas) about elevated ridges of more erosion-resistant formations or partially-consolidated sediments. Where the gently-dipping formations crop out at the surface, they form these ridges or "wolds".

In Texas, the continuation of these selfsame features into Texas are referred to by the physiographical term "cuestas" (Spanish, lit. "ribs") generally used there.

When such features are more steeply-dipping and sharply pronounced, they are called "hogbacks" instead, and are common among the erosion-resistant Mesozoic and Paleozoic outcroppings in the mountain West and Basin-and-Range province.

"Okay Godebert......What about the troops that signed up BEFORE Obozo became CinC? "

I'm certain Col. Lakin was commissioned before Obama took office. Had a few more officers spoken out it would have called Obama's bluff. But they had their 'careers' to think about. That gave Obama the time he needed.

Remember, Obama seemed to have no problem producing his phoney BC when asked later by Donald Trump. Yet he sent a good man and loyal officer to prison for asking the same question.
