‘No ma’am’: Letter from U.S. Marine to Dianne Feinstein goes viral

The following letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston and headlined “No ma’am.,” was posted in the CNN iReport on Dec. 27 with the included note from the producer and photo. It has struck a nerve with many and is being circulated around social media venues like Twitter and Facebook.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps
2004-2012

"Well, when you announce in the media tomorrow that you are raising and leading a militia for the purpose of overthrowing the current federal government because the Marines are too unpatriotic to do so, that should make quite a splash in the media. I look forward to seeing it."

Well, I know one patriot who upheld his sworn oath, a decorated army surgeon. He paid a heavy price for doing his duty. He knew the meaning of honor.

Boxer. At the end of this short vid, he says “Yes Sir.” Unintentional, I am sure, but amusing none the less.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0CprVYsG0k

Enforcing either has yet to play out. Saying NO is one thing. Meaning it is altogether something else.

To be clear: Commissioning document from CINC grants a commission but the oath is to the Constitution.

Therefore, the serviceman serves the Constitution not the commissioner (president).

Those that serve or have served, and many others, understand this, it is clear you do not.

Enough people explained the facts to you, yet you refuse to listen and learn.

You now have a choice: You admit you were wrong and move on, or act like a juvenile and, in the face of overwhelming facts, demonstrate your unrelenting idiocy and insist everyone else is wrong but you.

Basically, you said your piece and everyone else said theirs and you can let thinking people decide who they support, or you can insist on acting as a juvenile whiner and stomp your rhetorical flat foot and insist on the last word and thump away a response.

I’m betting the juvenile part of you is in control.

Your choice.

No. That is Col. Terrence Lakin, the last American hero.

I didn't ask about Colonel Lakin, I asked about you. You couldn't possibly be the sort of pathetic, cowardly, bloviating, self-righteous weasel who would lecture a wounded combat vet about duty and be unwilling to do the job yourself, right? And no, I'm not baiting you to try and get you to make some violence threat on FR and get banned or prosecuted. I'm saying that you are exactly the sort of pathetic, cowardly, bloviating, self-righteous weasel who would lecture a wounded combat vet about duty and be unwilling to do the job yourself, because if you really believed the filth you're spewing AND had the stones to back up your spew, you would not be posting about it on a web forum, you would be leading a coup.

So, you make Frank Burns look like Audie Murphy. Become a coprophage and go bloviate at DU.

Normally, she wouldn’t see it. The fact that it’s gone viral would bring it to her personal attention, otherwise only some low level staffer would see it. And only pay attention (if that) if it comes from one of her constituents.

Or maybe she’ll invite Cpl Boston to speak to the committee? hahahah

I'm watching a movie right now about a population of disarmed Jews living in Poland during the late 30’s and early 40’s. It didn't work out too good for the Jews but it was great for the Nazi's who were exterminating them. The movie is The Pianist.

And your husband had to put up with 44 years with someone who casually tosses around il-defined phrases like “attitude towards women” without ever concidering the possiblity of having an attitude towards men.

Today, the worst chauvinists in existence are women, and they’re even worse than their male predecessors because they think their bigotry is somehow justified.

The ability to convince yourself you are right is not the same as proving he was wrong.
