There has been so much "Evil Big Oil" stuff out there that people often do not stop and think that oil companies who get a bad name don't prosper anywhere near what they could have if they just did things right. It's a business which relies on the relationship it has with those who help it find the raw materials and products it sells by permitting drilling. No new wells, eventually nothing to sell--which is why the Left continues with the assault on the industry. They've been selling the "Evil Big Oil" meme since before the Captain Planet cartoons (promptly banned in my home).
