Angela Bauer, 40, and partner Jennifer Schreiner, 34, placed an ad on the site three years ago for a donor which was answered by William Marotta.
'We are foster and adoptive parents and now we desire to share a pregnancy and birth together,' Bauer wrote in the online posting.
Mr Marotta provided sperm which was used for artificial insemination by Ms Schreiner. In return, he gave up parental rights including financial duties for the child.
Ms. Bauer and Ms. Schriner have adopted eight children during their relationship
Angela Bauer and former partner Jennifer Schreiner are supporting their sperm donor William Marotta in his fight against paying child support for their daughter.
The three signed a legal document which stated Mr Marotta, a married mechanic who fosters children with his wife, would have no rights to the child.
Bauer and Schreiner updated Marotta on their daughter's well-being occasionally but he has had little contact, according to the Kansas City Star.
The arrangement changed earlier this year when Ms Schreiner, the only parent registered on her daughter's birth certificate, applied for social welfare.

The lesson? No matter how well intentioned there will always be some legal pig who will annul any legal document when there is money to be taken away from a male and given to a woman. Yes there is a child involved. That is a problem for the “mother”, and her “partner”. Gays and Lesbians want the same rights as anyone else? Let them have the same responsibilities.

That woman is pretending another woman is, effectively, a man.
During this pretense, eight children are recruited/produced/indoctrinated into this imaginary household.
The imaginary household tries to become a full-time business by looking for government to pay it for existing.
The government, in a bizarre moment of lucidity, attempts to do the right thing by making the father of a child support that child.
In the meantime the imaginary household/government-subsidized business enterprise falls apart.
Eight presumably innocent children were brainwashed and emotionally abused by three morons while responsible adults were forced to pay for it.
In the meantime, the three scam artists continue their rent-seeking while pretending that it is them - and not the unoffending children - who have been done an injustice.
Also, apparently everyone involved in this story is morbidly obese.

She agreed to it, and made the guy sign away his parental rights and financial responsibilities. If he signed the financial responsibilities away that means THEY AGREED to be responsible, so SHE SHOULD PAY.

Note that some of the commenters are taling about what are the birthmother's feelings now, is she lesbian or straight, and "did the sperm donor choose to be a father" . Who the heck cares about "what she feels" or "when did he choose" or "whoever/whatever they now want or are now attracted to" etc. etc.
Obligations are obligations. Duties are duties. They do not depend on your on-and-off feelings. Children have rights which are natural, are imprinted in the bodies and minds, and are necessary for their life-long-flourishing.
#1 in the list of rights is, of course, the right to life = the right to just go on living, not to be assaulted, terminated, or murdered.
But right #2 is closely akin to it, and this is: the right to the support, provision, and nurturance of your natural father and mother.
That's what sex, love, and marriage are supposed to be about: the commitment of one man and one woman to each other and to the children born to them. They have the duty to acknowledge the child as bone-of-their-bone and flesh-of-their-flesh, to love and care for their child as such, because this is what every child needs to humanly flourish.
Pack up your "I feel" and "I want" and store it with the rest of your kindergarten memorabilia. An adult says: "The child's needs come before my feelings and wants."

This is the 'legal' issue...the fact that they decided to forgo the State mucking about in their business. WHY was a certified doctor needed? Obviously not because the results would differ. They did a pretty good job on their own [obviously].
There IS a written private contract where the donor already gave up any rights to the child, and without the Right, there can be no Duty.

Stupidity is not a crime punishable by government, and I am heartily glad this guy has decided to lawyer up and fight this idea that the State gets to regulate every single aspect of our lives.
If the 'couple' is named as parents in HIS contract let THEM foot the bill for their grand scheme to 'play house'.

Just like women should be protective of themselves sexually, men should be protective of themselves like not spreading their “seed” around. Contrary to what society says, sex outside of marriage is like playing with fire.
In my younger days not knowing any better, I was careful not to impregnate a woman like in a one-night stand. If impregnated and a baby was born, that would be my kid and all the headaches in parenting without marriage.
Now I have a 13 year old and I emphasize to him that he should wait until marriage and try to emphasize the consequences of playing around outside of marriage.
