David Gregory to Obama: 'Is This Your Lincoln Moment?'

David Gregory to Obama: 'Is This Your Lincoln Moment?' Obama: "I never compare myself to Lincoln." Daniel Halper December 30, 2012 11:06 AM

NBC host David Gregory asked President Barack Obama this morning, "Is this your Lincoln moment?"

The question came up after Obama invoked the movie Lincoln when talking about Republicans and Democrats coming together to work out a deal on the "fiscal cliff.

"Well, no," Obama said in response to Gregory's question. "Look, a) I never compare myself to Lincoln. And b) obviously the magnitude of the issues is quite different from the Civil War and slavery. The point, though, is democracy has always been messy. We're a big diverse country that is constantly sort of arguing about all kinds of stuff. But eventually, we do the right thing."

David Gregory wants obozo to go to Ford's theater? That is a little extreme I would just rather have him kicked out of office, but hey I won't argue.

It is not just the media. Obama’s success goes deeper. He is supported by people who have much more power. They fix elections and have large sums of money. They have people killed and they own most of Congress. Media is just one branch.

As Bowbama was leaving the studio, he reached around to scratch his ass and poked Gregory right in the eye!

Lincoln moment?

More like a JFK moment! When Lincoln got taken out, at least everyone knew what the motive was and whom to suspect. Well, OK, JW Booth was a nationally known celebrity who basically admitted he did it on the Ford Theater stage. That helped.

My point being that even though JFK got whacked 50 years ago, reasonable people can still disagree on “who done it” because so many people were PO’d at JFK. So many JFK-haters had the “means, motive and opportunity” (Oswald, LBJ, CIA, Castro, ex-Havana Mob, Miami Mob, New Orleans Mob, Dallas Mob, Chicago Mob...oh, yeah, the Diem family in Vietnam, too!

IMO, the number of folks PO’d at Barry will increase exponentially this year as his failing policies result in more gun-grabbing, job-crushing, economy-crushing, Muslim Bro-promotion headlines.

I personally do NOT want to see every road and public works project named after Barry like they did with JFK. That must not happen.

“So, Lincoln owed everything—his nomination and election—to Northern protectionists, especially the ones in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He was expected to be the enforcer of the Morrill tariff. Understanding all too well that the South Carolina tariff nullifiers had foiled the last attempt to impose a draconian protectionist tariff on the nation by voting in political convention not to collect the 1828 “Tariff of Abominations,” Lincoln literally promised in his first inaugural address a military invasion if the new, tripled tariff rate was not collected.”

Obama is similarly invested in imposing socialist health care and taxing the rich.

We ought to start calling ObamaCare, ObaminationCare as a faint reference to the Tariff of Abomination.

From Lincoln’s First Inaugural Address [1]:

...
I therefore consider that in view of the Constitution and the laws the Union is unbroken, and to the extent of my ability, I shall take care, as the Constitution itself expressly enjoins upon me, that the laws of the Union be faithfully executed in all the States. Doing this I deem to be only a simple duty on my part, and I shall perform it so far as practicable unless my rightful masters, the American people, shall withhold the requisite means or in some authoritative manner direct the contrary. I trust this will not be regarded as a menace, but only as the declared purpose of the Union that it will constitutionally defend and maintain itself.

In doing this there needs to be no bloodshed or violence, and there shall be none unless it be forced upon the national authority. The power confided to me will be used to hold, occupy, and possess the property and places belonging to the Government and to collect the duties and imposts; but beyond what may be necessary for these objects, there will be no invasion, no using of force against or among the people anywhere. Where hostility to the United States in any interior locality shall be so great and universal as to prevent competent resident citizens from holding the Federal offices, there will be no attempt to force obnoxious strangers among the people for that object. While the strict legal right may exist in the Government to enforce the exercise of these offices, the attempt to do so would be so irritating and so nearly impracticable withal that I deem it better to forego for the time the uses of such offices. 18

The mails, unless repelled, will continue to be furnished in all parts of the Union. So far as possible the people everywhere shall have that sense of perfect security which is most favorable to calm thought and reflection. The course here indicated will be followed unless current events and experience shall show a modification or change to be proper, and in every case and exigency my best discretion will be exercised, according to circumstances actually existing and with a view and a hope of a peaceful solution of the national troubles and the restoration of fraternal sympathies and affections...

We could recast this perfectly well into the future as so many States have rejected participation in AbominationCare that its scheme of health insurance “exchanges” cannot possibly work as intended. So, the federal government will have to imposed health care insurance upon people and impose premiums, fees and taxes to support it. Those will all be higher than anyone thought they would be and there will be a general refusal to pay them.

Thus we bring ourselves exactly to the point the Southern States were at when Lincoln penned these words: If you send us the amount we demand for YOUR health care, we won’t “invade” you by seizing your bank accounts. If too many people “go Gault”, politely and peacefully declining to participate will NOT BE PERMITTED by a power hungry and narcissistic president.

The parallels are chilling. Let us hope the analogy ends there without the bloodshed.

I’ve compared Obama to Lincoln ever since Obama took office. Which POS, in order to win support for his oppression and excessive taxation of a large portion of the US; whipped up annimosity and ill will between factions to a fever pitch instead of trying to unite them?

Which POS used the plight of a minority to ignite public sentiment and enlarge his constituency even though that minority’s equality wasn’t one of his own beliefs.

What POS authorized the theft, commandeering, deprivation abd destitution of the portion of the US that had prospered more than the other?

Lincoln authorized the scorched earth policy that resulted in Union soldiers burning, pillaging and stealing of shelter, food and sustenance in the middle of winter for Southern women, children and elderly because they were “rebels”. That puts Lincoln on the same level of Beshar Assad, yet Lincoln is a historical icon in this country. The victor writes history.

I don’t think we’ve seen the full potential of our illustrious “Dear Leader” as of yet. There may be even more historic figures we can compare him to before this is over.
