Oliver Stone to RT: ‘US has become an Orwellian state’
rt ^ | 9/28 | rt

Americans are living in an Orwellian state argue Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone and historian Peter Kuznick, as they sit down with RT to discuss US foreign policy and the Obama administration’s disregard for the rule of law.

Both argue that Obama is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and that people have forgiven him a lot because of the “nightmare of the Bush presidency that preceded him.”

“He has taken all the Bush changes he basically put them into the establishment, he has codified them,” Stone told RT. “It is an Orwellian state. It might not be oppressive on the surface, but there is no place to hide. Some part of you is going to end up in the database somewhere.”

According to Kuznick, American citizens live in a fish tank where their government intercepts more than 1.7 billion messages a day. “That is email, telephone calls, other forms of communication.”

RT’s Abby Martin in the program Breaking the Set discusses the Showtime film series and book titled The Untold History of the United States co-authored by Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick.

"Obama was a great hope for change"

Congress, at Last Minute, Drops Requirement to Obtain Warrant to Monitor Email

http://www.allgov.com/news/top-stories/congress-at-last-minute-drops-requirement-to-obtain-warrant-to-monitor-email-121225?news=846578

The gubmint is free to listen to your phone calls and read your emails ...since these were not around at the time the 4th Amendment was incorporated. (wearing my leftard hat)

And apparently that’s how The Regime reads it:

Justice Department Expands Hunt for Data on Cellphones

Obama’s NSA eavesdropping goes beyond that of Bush... after campaigning on the promise of: “ No warrantless wiretaps if you elect me!”

http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9845595-7.html

headlines read:” NSA Exceeds Legal Limits In Eavesdropping Program” , “ U.S. phone intercepts go beyond legal limits” , and “NSA Found Improperly Spying on Americans”.

Allow me to address those concerns with a quote from Terry Gilliam’s “Brazil”:

INTERVIEWER: Mr. Helpmann, what would you say to those critics who maintain that the Ministry Of Information has become too large and unwieldy... ?

HELPMANN: David... in a free society information is the name of the game. You can’t win the game if you’re a man short.

INTERVIEWER: And the cost of it all, Deputy Minister? Seven percent of the gross national produce...

HELPMANN: I understand this concern on behalf of the tax-payers. People want value for money and a cost-effective service.

HELPMANN: That is why we always insist on the principle of Information Retrieval Charges. These terrorists are not pulling their weight, and it’s absolutely right and fair that those found guilty should pay for their periods of detention and the Information Retrieval Procedures used in their interrogation.

Stone is not a “liberal socialist”. He has evolved from a disillusioned Vietnam veteran into an America-hating psychopath.

His lies about America are legend and his association with the marxists of the world, including Hugo Chavez, are the proof. Kuznick is even worse and his view of history is just as distorted.

I love the part about Bush invading Iraq in 1991. Seems the little Kuznick bastard forgot that Iraq invaded a sovereign nation and slaughtered several thousand of its citizens who were taken away into the desert. Small detail but I think it is important.

Kuznick sounds like the defenders of Hitler when he took the Sudatenland from Czechoslovakia, seized Danzig, and helped install a Quisling in Norway, as well as occupying Denmark and trying to deport all its Jews. Oh, it was nothing, really.

Oh, as for invading Poland in league with Stalin’s Soviet Union. It was the Poles fault for existing. No, it was the fault of the Polish Jews. No, it was both. See. I can sound as crazy as Stone. Nothing to it.

RT is a Russian propaganda organ, like the old Izvestia, Pravda an Tass, only slicker, more modern and more deceptive. Just the kind of TV show that the American Left likes.

Better than radio/TV’s Maddow, Rhoades, Amy Goodman, and Schulz/Matthews/O’Donnell and herr Olbermann. Flashy, not droll. Pretty chicks who can spout the Party line without losing their spot on the teleprompter. Cool music. Gee, just like Nazi Germany in the 30’s. Leni, you’ve got to love your imitators.

Oh, well, Stone and Kuznick are loved in Hollywood too. Says something about the IQ and educational level of the leftist inhabitants thereof.

Says something terrible about what part of America has become.

Stone like so many fellow travelers had thought
that his socialism credentials would protect him,
now he is realizing that they won’t.

It might be wrong of me but I can’t help but smirk when I read this. After the 2008 election of this boob, my arguments with the brain dead libs was THIS! He was doing everything they detested about Bush! It was entertaining to hear them justify their idiot doing it.

I loathe Stone, he even looks like a sick little worm.
Hope he is miserable down to the last cell in his ugly body.

It’s always the same...nuts on both the extreme right and the extreme left (but mostly on the left) claim to have secret information that the unknowing and/or uncaring public is not privy to. These “truthtellers” will set the record straight. Stone will reveal the evil intentions of all the capitalist baddies as he lives in his four or five multi-million dollar mansions and flits around his his private jets and fleets of expensive cars. Yeah, that free-market system is just horrible.. isn’t it Stone? (snicker)
