General Schwartzkopf was my role model. I will never be like him. I can only admire who he was, and what he stood for. Besides being a great leader, and great general, he had a fund of knowledge that was amazing.
I remember him telling the story about how he had once been caught in barbed wire, crawling through it and how scared he had been. He told it, not to brag, to give an idea to a reporter about what our men were going through in Iraq.
Rest in peace, General Schwartzkopf. Your country is a better place because of your service to us.

I remember he answered a reporter by asking ‘Have you ever been in the middle of a mine field? Let me tell you it’s intense.’
