Here in PA, it is legal for a firearm to be given to an immediate family member (who is not otherwise prohibited). So the buyer could fill out the paperwork and give it to his wife.

There are tens of millions of Americans for whom it is customary to provide offspring with firearms as they reach the age of 12 ~ or close to it.
I look foward to the day we get the federal government out of the business of dictating personal behavior and customs.

Well, I beat Santa this year. I refinished a 20 gage I inherited from my dad and gave it to our daughter on her birthday late in Nov.

Someone must have gotten a nice gift for Christmas down the road from me. They opened up about 9:00 this morning and fired about 7-8 shots.
It was definitely not a .22 rimfire. Scared my poor dogs something terrible.
