Krauthammer: Obama’s fast track on regulations could be ‘illegal and unconstitutional’

In February 2011, President Obama ordered a sweeping review of the federal government, saying to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce that, “if there are rules on the books that are needlessly stifling job creation and economic growth, we will fix them.”

However, according to Regulations.gov — which bills itself as “your source for information on the development of federal regulations and other related documents issued by the U.S. government” — the feds have posted thousands of new regulations in the past few months alone. The breakdown:...

Obama is bypassing Congress to enact whatever he wants because he knows they will not permit it. What happened to our 'checks and balances' form of government?

Thanks to Mr. Justice Roberts, Obama knows that whatever he does is going to get rubber-stamped in the end.

That’s also a good description of his presidency.

No “could” about it. It is unconstitutional. BS Court rulings over the years have killed what was supposed to be a Constitutional Republic. All laws are to originate from the House. By twisting themselves into pretzels to fool themselves into saying regulations are somehow OK, they have killed the Republic and we are dying a slow death under these idiotic and sometimes evil nincompoops.

All it takes is a satchel full of cash from Mr. Soros...

In order to turn the USA into the legal equivalent of a third world country required exactly ONE President, coming from that turd world.

JUST ONE.

If you allow an illegal POTUS (and potential felon) to take office ergo you get illegal activity at the highest levels of our government including with our national treasure.

That was so nice I watched it twice. Lady from “The Hill,” with the assistance of the moderator, saying it’s a pendulum, trying to frame Republicans as the ones who take too many regulations away, and Krauthammer saying quite rightly No, it’s not a pendulum. We’re in deep doop.

I wish people could see the light. President has his regulatory agencies doing what Congress has already voted against and no one is aware because it’s not a hot presidential election time.

He’s going ahead with banning guns and banning fracking and Congress can go twiddle its thumbs.

My sentiments exactly! Who are you going to complain to? The SOTUS? One thing I drew from Justice John Roberts statement about Obamacare is ‘elections have consequences’. We’re at the point where people believe that they have the right to direct the government to use force on the ‘haves’ to provide (get revenge or punish, is included) for their needs and wants.
The game now is to keep one step ahead of them.

I don’t think it was a “carrot” at all, but a “stick”.

Someone threatened someone Roberts cared about and couldn’t protect.

I'm sorry, but is this article supposed to show us the brilliance of Charles Krauthammer? Please forgive me if I'm not impressed with this Washington insider and his pronouncements of the obvious.

Sorry, but this guy gets it wrong, far more than he gets it right. I'm not impressed by his “clock is right twice a day” intelligence. Trust me, give him a week and he'll be praising Boehner.

Maybe we can find another great article from his bestest buddy Bill Kristol from that GOP rag, the Weekly Standard.

What the kenyan nazi is doing follows almost exactly the methods FDR used. The big difference is that back then there was a real Supreme Court that wasn’t bought off or afraid to tell FDR to stuff it, at least on some of his BS dictates.

You’re right, it is a pronouncement of the obvious, but I had no idea there were such a huge number of these regulations being put in place right under our noses. Maybe we need to inundate the regulations.gov website with comments. It might be a good start.

This is a trick of Democrats dating back to Clinton/Gore. The entire US Forest Service is operated on Administrative initiatives. There is nothing in statute about “ecosystem management.” To the contrary, it states management for production of water and timber, and multiple use and sustained yield. Management of our Forests have no relationship to the law.

Exactly. Charles is naively laboring under the antiquated belief that we are some sort of constitutional republic. King Barack I will decree whatever regulations he wants his subjects to follow. We are now a monarchy.
