BBQ skewers too. The ones in my kitchen accessories drawer are 12” long.

They can have my knife when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers, but only after all those wanting to commit seppuku
have been accommodated.

The best one I read was the guy who’s suing the flatware manufacturer’s because his spoon made him fat.

Au contraire.

(From the British Baseball Federation website):

The leaders of the new World Baseball Softball Confederation
(WBSC), an organisation formed by merging
the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and
the International Softball Federation (ISF),
presented their unified vision for the inclusion of
baseball and softball in the 2020 Olympic Games.

BONSAI!

Good call. There will be great demand for experts in that field.

One group of doctors called for this nearly a decade ago, nothing did or will ever happen, and yet people here think we banned kitchen knives.

Except it never happened, and never was going to or will happen.

It was one group who called for a ban. And why is Greenfield running a UK story from 2005?.

People of FR, kitchen knives are not banned in the UK.

They werent in 2005, this was a call from one small group of doctors. It was ignored, if anything the US seems to have taken more notice of it than we did!.

I thought it was a classic episode of Tales of the Unexpected, the classic 1970’s/1980’s British show, introduced by and written by Roald Dahl.

Bamboo skewers then.

There's apparently no shortage of items that can be used as effective weapons.

No, we are too smart to play that boring game.

But you play soccer, which is a boring game until the conclusion, when the fans of the losing team riot.

Soccer, like any sport when its played properly, is a great sport, full of excitement. When its isnt, its dull.

When any sport is done the right way, its great, full of skill, excitement. Any sport played the wrong way becomes sterile and dull.

Given that baseball takes half a day and is as slow as a snail, and the NFL takes 3-4 hrs, it does strike us Limeys as hypocritical that Americans moan about how boring soccer is.

At least a boring soccer game is over in 90 minutes (plus 15 min break)= 1hr 45m. Rugby is even quicker.

You can fit two whole dull soccer games into one dull NFL and probably three dull soccer games into a boring baseball game.

I'll not be giving those up, not the factory made, not the custom made.

I've made a few knives. A knife is just a tool. Will we have to turn in our screwdrivers too?

Baseball may be more laid back than other sports, but I’ve never found it boring. Sometimes the games can be downright exciting.

As to football, I don’t follow the NFL, but I’m a huge fan of the USC Trojans. From 1973 to 1999, I attended every home game and quite a few away games. The most boring thing about these games is the TV time outs, in which the game is suspended while TV stations run commercials. They can add perhaps an hour or more to the length of the game. TV time outs are signaled when a man with a clipboard—the most hated man in the stadium—walks onto the field.

This isn’t a problem at Occidental College Tigers games, which are not televised.

I hate baseball, which isnt even American anyway.
In fact, none of your major sports are. lol.

Actually I am a gridiron/NFL fan of 30 odd years.

But I am also a big soccer fan, and I will fire a few shots back when soccer gets bashed here.

Interestingly, Jacques Barzun, who died recently, wrote in God's Country and Mine (Boston: Little, Brown, 1954) that one must learn baseball if one wants to understand the American character.

HEY BRITS!

I admired your navy in the 1800's
I admired your Tommies in WWI
Your fighter pilots in WWII
Nelson, Churchill, Wellington, Cochrane, etc...

However, as you have obviously become a weak-willed/spineless/all-too-soon-to-be-a-sharia-ruled- nation,
and yet think we are all 'gun nuts'
because we are gearing up for whats all-too-evident-in-our-goverment-'leaders'-agenda...

Reminds me of the Stallone movie, “Demolition Man” where even physical sex was banned.
