Next they will start outlawing baseball bats, or similar club-like appliances. Lengths of pipe, anybody?

The only places I know of where they take sharp objects away from adults are psych wards and jail.

For some perhaps. I've spent serious money on the knives in my chef's bag. From little bitty razor sharp paring knives to 12" long carvers that can double as a short sword.

I'll not be giving those up, not the factory made, not the custom made.

Yet another law to ignore if they try it here.

At least baseball bats wouldn't be a problem in Britain, since no one there plays baseball.

They make shivs in jails and prisons. If bad people have a will, they’ll find a way. Short knives can also be very dangerous. What about shovels, boards, tire irons? Will people be left with anything at all that won’t eventually be gist for being taken away from people that liberals don’t find “dangerous?”

If a person has managed to stab you once, you will probably be in a state of shock and unprepared for a quick second stabbing, or possibly a third.

If you are afraid of the government you are its slave. If it is afraid of you, you are its master. Words to live (free) by.

They can have my santoku when they pry it from my cold dead hands. Nor can they have my Kukri (in spite of the fact the only blood it has ever tasted is my own, damnit), or my Ka-Bar... Ok, they can have the french style chef’s knife. I’ve never cared for that one...

I can go along with the idea that we should try to eliminate the factors which result in the taking of innocent human life. But let’s examine ALL of these causes throughout history, and not just the current vogue. Based upon the historical data, one might suggest banning Marxist/atheistic totalitarian governments.

Mao 75 million;
Stalin 50 million;
Hitler 25 million;
and then we might give also ran’s to Pol Pot, Castro, etc.

150+ million certainly dwarfs individual acts of random violence by 6 or 7 orders of magnitude. I can hardly wait until the press starts vigorously supporting my idea.

Second place award might go to Islam, which has waged unrelenting jihad upon the civilized world for 1400 years.

LOL, now that would cause an outcry in Scotland!

Don’t forget tennis rackets, croquet mallets, and umbrellas! Then there is that Hitchcock story about the woman who killed her husband with a frozen roast, cooked it, and served it to the police investigators. That would give the food nazis another excuse to ban meat.

Also to be banned will be knife producing equipment and material such grinding wheels, files, and pieces of metal longer than 4 inches (10 cm). This will require the immediate confiscation of all motor vehicles, metal appliances, and dumpsters, which could be a major source of knife production metal.

Anticipating the eventual switch to wooden or plastic knives, all pieces of wood and plastic longer than the above mentioned lengths will be banned.

Anticipating the eventual harvesting of wood from trees by illegal wood knife fabricators, all trees with branch length longer than the above mentioned lengths will be cut down or regularly trimmed to prevent illegal branch lengths. Such trees must be registered with the appropriate authorities.

Other materials and equipment may be added to this list in the future. These regulations are subject to change with no less than a 30 second warning.

Well, that’s what leftists are trying to do: turn the whole world into a mental institution, or a prison.
