Dana Loesch Sues Breitbart.com To Nix Contract

Radio host, sometime CNN contributor, and Breitbart.com non-blogger Dana Loesch has filed suit against Breitbart.com LLC, according to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, seeking release from her contract, and $75,000 in damages.

Conservative talk radio host and commentator Dana Loesch sued the owner of the conservative website Breitbart.com Friday, claiming that although her relationship with the news and opinion aggregating website had gone “tragically awry,” Breibart.cοm LLC refused to let her work for the company or anyone else, forcing her into “indentured servitude in limbo.”

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court here, seeks at least $75,000 in damages, as well as a judge’s declaration that her contract had expired.

In August, at the height of Rep. Todd “Legitimate Rape”Akin‘s notoriety, Loesch tweeted Akin advising him not to appear on fellow CNNer Piers Morgan’s program, then “reached out to the campaign to confirm” Akin had canceled his appearance...

The network confirmed, in November, that Dana Loesch is still a CNN contributor, and multiple sources at CNN say there is no organized blackball, that booking decisions are made by the executive producers of each show, but that poaching Akin might not have endeared her to those EPs. -

I get the issue. Andrew's sudden death left Dana without an direction at the Big Journalism site. She probably had major disagreements on the direction and over what she wanted to write. So it sounded like she wanted out, but she was not let out of the contract. One wonders if it had to do with the Todd Akin coverage or with various other topics like the video that was not released that Andrew wanted out, only to give us a different video, Obama and Derek Bell. that some say is not the same thing Andrew talked about at the CPAC. Either way, I sense she wanted to go a different direction like maybe continue on her website that she abandoned when she joined Breitbart and start appearing on PJTV, for example or The Blaze Tv, which she did over the summer. But they wouldn't let her out. She is a real good radio host to me. I hope she gets to go because she had made it clear by no longer working for them that she will not do anything more if she stays.

I like Breitbart.com. I'd hate to see them have to pay. What she did there wasn't worth that much money. She should just be gracious and leave. Breitbart.com has done a lot for the people of this country.

The Saint Louis post dispatch had a little more information. Sounded like it was a difference of direction and a assumption the site was not going the way Andrew wanted it so they said Dana said it was a dying site or group of sites. They made it sound like she wanted out and they wouldn’t let her, but she quit in September. But they actually renewed her contract. So she works for them still, but she is not working for them. In other words she quit doing the articles and work she did with them.

The Mediaite article focuses more on her not being with CNN on air, but CNN still listing her as a contributor.

And a few people asked about Dana when Breitbart.com announced the hiring of Washington Time’s Kerry Picket this month.

They would not let her out of her contract it sounds like. So can she just leave. What can she do since she was renewed instead. It sounded like she wasn’t free to go to another place. And she quit doing the job she was hired for them.

” it was a difference of direction and a assumption the site was not going the way Andrew wanted it”

I liked Dana’s articles. I’m on Breitbart everyday. I see the changes and agree that it is moving away from Andrew’s passions and direction. I find that sad.

“Can someone explain to me if there’s supposed to be a scandal that someone pees on the corpse of a Taliban fighter?

Someone who, as part of an organization, murdered over 3,000 Americans?”

I’d drop trou and do it too. That’s me, though.

I want a million cool points for these guys. Is that harsh to say?

Come on people, this is a war. What do you think this is?”

A lot of shuffling among radio hosts lately. Savage, Ingraham and now Leosch. It seems people are taking sides. No?
