Republicans are in danger of losing their power and Democrats could become a near-permanent majority if the GOP doesn’t conduct a major overhaul on its party operations, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has warned. …

Gingrich said there are 25 issues the party should address, including more work to include minority communities, a push for the party to compete in big cities and a refusal to ignore parts of the country that lean Democratic. …

Take action now to address climate change...be more humane to illegal aliens...accept gay marriage... be more inclusive of liberals...

And this was the guy who convinced a bunch of freepers he was a “bold Reagan conservative” and “found Jesus” when he married his mistress Callista. Any of us who questioned if he was sincere got endlessly attacked here.

Are they having buyer's remorse yet?

That’s why Gingrich is right - as long as the Repubs insist on being Democrat Lite, they will be a permanent minority until there is either a massive purge & takeover by the Patriots...or an alternative Party is started. Any future election involving a D or R is a total ring of baloney.

Did you read his comments? Gingrich argued the exact opposite of what you're saying. He has said the GOP NEEDS to be Dem-lite so they WON'T be a permanent minority. That is why he is calling on conservatives to "accept" gay marriage is inevitable and so on. He has a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" mentality.

You sure that is what Gingrich is saying?

Funny how Gingrich goes from this position back in January to this position twelve months later.

I have never voted for a Democrat in my life.
And after McCain and Romney, have absolutely no intention of voting for a Republican again.

I am a third party man.

After reading Tom Coburn’s “Breach of Trust” I understood why Coburn has such contempt for Gingrich. Now I have contempt for them all because they all fiddle while Rome Burns. You can’t tweak our problems, and you can’t become what you despise just to get people to like you. Where are the Men - Where are the Leaders?????

Just keep an open mind.

If Palin gains momentum, you might be needed.

Now about bringing back, US jobs.

I like Palin a lot. I’m likely to vote for her if I ever get another chance. But I’m guessing the GOP will work very hard to make sure I never get such a chance. My guess is that if Palin is going to run, she should probably do it as a third party candidate.

But we will see. I will support anyone who puts this country first, wants to bring back jobs, and wants to shrink (that means: shrink) the size of government.

Man, Newt and The Liberal RINO GOPers are sounding bat-dropping stupid trying to move the party left

Do they really think the GOP can win....dropping its Conservative base for a coalition of Illegal Aliens and Homosexuals?

A man who couldn’t win the primary is giving the GOP advice about how to win.

In a somewhat related story:

Hey Patriots, the Browns have some advice for you to help you win.

Yes, I did read Newt’s comments - I agree that what he is suggesting will not work, but he is right that this is what the RINOs THINK will work. The only way the Repubs will win again is to be true to what the majority of Americans want but aren’t getting. So, more and more will probably not vote if we continue to go down the Newt-Rove black hole. (What kind of Catholic pushes for acceptance of same-sex marriage?)

If Palin were to get the nomination and there were no Dole/Bush/McCain/Baker types around her, then it would be a different GOP. Right now, I see the GOP abandoning conservative principles. Right now, I see a GOP that wants no one to the right of Ms. Lindsey Graham.

If Palin gains momentum

Gains momentum for what? She HAD momentum, but like the best candidate in 2008, Fred Thompson, she didn't want to run. Somehow, the best GOP candidates either don't want to run or have a fatal flaw that ends up killing their candidacy.

To an extent, I agree with you.

However to another, I do not agree. Palin has two young daughters to raise right now.

I’m quite sure it was a touch call for her, but she put her family first. I did not agree, but I totally agree her family comes first for her, and I totally respect that.

Her two young daughters will be four full years older next time. If Palin really wants to run, this will be the race coming up.

Stay tuned.

You guys are acting stupid. All Newt is saying here was stop the writing off of people and the Red State VS Blue State BS. Take the message to all people, whether they are in a big city or small city. Stop thinking like the left. If Mark Levin had said I am not a Red State, I am an American, everyone would be praising him. Run to win and win big. It's that simple.

From what I’ve studied about the GOP, they haven’t had a true conservative since Reagan. And the establishment hated him because he wasn’t a ‘squish’. Think about it. When was the last time the GOPe had a conservative as President and not a progressive (globalist)?

What “momentum”? The GOPe in 2012 picked Romney as their guy and sewed up the funding, pundits and state/county GOP machines. Romney’s business savvy was put into use to run a formidable primary machine (general election was another story).

Do you remember the RNC rules 12/16 debacle? Nuff said.

The deck was stacked and I saw this first hand. Palin was wise to avoid the trap. Sadly the GOP has to get it’s teeth kick in before the rank-and-file wise up. We’re already seeing this in the states.

As much as I was disappointed in her saying no in 2012, I could see that running for POTUS takes years of laying ground work. It’s more than just emotion, you have to back it up with much, much more.
