Gun control policy ideas more than just talk
The Los Angeles Times ^ | December 22, 2012 | Melanie Mason, Washington Bureau

Just one day after President Obama tapped Vice President Joe Biden to lead an initiative on gun violence, Jon Adler was at its first meeting, along with Cabinet secretaries and organizations representing law enforcement.

Not much lead time, but no matter: Adler, national president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Assn., had a list of policy changes — from legislative to regulatory to "tactical" coordination — at the ready, with granular detail. He cited, chapter and verse, the law that makes it a misdemeanor to knowingly possess a firearm in a school zone. He wanted that upgraded to a felony.

No shortage exists of policy ideas to reduce gun violence. Law enforcement groups, gun-safety advocates and other organizations weighing in on the firearms debate have churned out policy prescriptions for years. Most of the time, the recommendations have simply gathered dust. Now, in light of the Connecticut school shooting, advocates hope some of their proposals may become law.

New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg released a statement with his policy wish list less than an hour after Obama announced the Biden-led talks. In addition to shoring up the criminal background check system and introducing laws to ban assault weapons and large-capacity magazines, Bloomberg detailed immediate actions the president could take. Among them: ordering all federal agencies to send records to the national gun background check database...

That was quick, wasn't it? Almost like they had all this pre-planned.

We still haven’t heard if forensics identified Adam’s fingerprints on anything. For all anyone knows he was just a tool in a larger event.

So, I guess the Sandy Hook killer would have thought twice, knowing he could have been charged with a felony. Ridiculous!

They’re obviously “Preppers” - and preparing for the same eventuality the rest of us are - but doing it from a somewhat different angle . . .

Because you just know that the loon planning to murder a bunch of little kids in the school will change his mind once he knows it's a felony to take the gun onto school grounds as opposed to a misdemeanor.

These people are either flaming idiots or they want school shootings to happen more often.

I have a six year old son.

This pisses me off.

GEORGE COSTANZA
Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorance on this thing, because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing is frowned upon... you know, cause I’ve worked in a lot of offices, and I tell you, people do that all the time.

A felony, you say? Well, had I known ...

They probably did have it pre-planned. Left over from Fast & Furious. Obama's gun program where he funneled all those AK47's to the Mexican drug cartels. Then allegedly to set back and wait for the numbers of the dead citizens on both sides of the boarder to mount up causing people to cry out for help. Then allegedly obama, the democrats, and the media would swoop in offering gun control as an answer to end all the carnage. Except the whistle blowers got the word out after our boarder guard was murdered and that put a monkey wrench in obama's plans.

Adler should have added that murder be upgraded to a Super Dupper Felony! WOW that’ll stop’em!

"Public Outrage" was supposed to be the result of "Fast & Furious," but the details were leaked too early. So these are just the plans they just put aside until F&F blew over, knowing that the Ministry of Propaganda would hide the governments murderous acts in supplying firearms to the drug cartels.

Generate laws so everyone is a criminal. Alinsky or Cloward-Piven, take your pick.

It wasn’t until after WWII that the Reichstag Fire was proven to be a fraud. If Hitler had won, nobody would have ever found out. And he had a plan of action- get that Enabling Act passed....

The purpose of the law is not to protect children, but to make it impossible for ordinary citizens to carry a gun in a regular way. 1,000 foot “school zones overlap in most cities and towns, making it impossible to move about without intersecting a “gun free school zone”. The law was ruled unconstitutional once, and should be repealed.

Did you expect anything else, Patriot ? When the Reichstag burns, one must move quickly.

You’d think that would be an issue here......But when the Reichstag is burning, there’s no time for common sense.

False flag, without a doubt. If the Socialistocrats could write the perfect scenario for generating MAXIMUM outrage at guns, gun owners and gun ownership, this was it. Too perfect, if you ask me, all the way down to the destroyed hard drive.. And one month before 0bama’s second term begins, no less. A second term where numerous pundits predicted an 0bama gun grab.. VIOLA!

The gun ban demands of the 1990s ended when 19 Arabs with boxcutters slammed four airplanes into buildings and a field killing 3000 people.

Suddenly those who had no need for a military style rifle found maybe they may just need one after all.

Now the gun control bandwagon is slowly picking up speed again, led by the same fainthearts as the one in 1994.

How would that have prevented the Newtown massacre or how would it prevent a similar occurrence in the future?
