April 16, 2000

Marking the first anniversary of the shooting deaths at Columbine High School, President Clinton announced $120 million in new federal grants Saturday to place more police officers in schools and help even the youngest kids cope with their problems.

Clinton also unveiled the $60-million fifth round of funding for "COPS in School," a Justice Department program that helps pay the costs of placing police officers in schools to help make them safer for students and teachers. The money will be used to provide 452 officers in schools in more than 220 communities.

And how much will it cost to put them in all 125,000 schools in America?

Sixty million for 220 public schools........there are 98,000 public schools in the US. This was nothing more than a “paid for by the taxpayers” democrat photo-op.

In Minnesota, most of our schools already have armed officers in the schools so funding and fear of damaging their fragile psyches are pretty much non-issues up here.

Additionally, we have an excess of returning vets that cannot find work due to the Obamony.

How tragic would it be to have male role models walking around in schools where a plurality of the children have no real male role model.

(Rhetorical question: depends on weather you are a Democrat or an American)

It does not have anything to do with the weather, but rather on pneumonia. Makes it hard to think.

I believe the point of the post was to expose the hypocrisy of the left and a-holes they are for jumping all over the NRA’s suggestion which is exactly the same as what Clinton proposed in 2000.

Yup. Good post. The point wasn't lost on me.

Report: Obama Cut School Security Funding

http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2012/12/21/report-obama-cut-school-security-funding/

This Post is Going to be Very Confusing to Some People

The NRA came out with a proposal to post armed police officers at schools to prevent or at least minimize the next school shooting. The left promptly called the idea nuts.

Turns out, it wasn’t a new idea. President Bill Clinton proposed the same idea in April 2000. He implemented it, too, only to see Barack Obama cut the funding for it.

So, if you’re keeping score, the NRA agrees with a 12-year old Bill Clinton position on school security. The left just called a former Democrat president “crazy.”
