That strikes a chord with me. I can understand a second marriage since a person may have been very naive and married someone he or she didn't really know the first time. But the third time, no, something is really wrong with you if that happens. You either have poor judgment or you don't hold to your promises.
As regards multi-marriage people in general, though, do they not understand the pledge of "to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or or worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to have and to cherish, as long as we both shall live?" Maybe that last phrase escaped their memory or they never meant it in the first place.
I remember it well and I abide by it. It's been 41 years now in this, my first and last marriage.

Yep. I’d guess the rabid Newt contingent will be scarce on this thread. I heard him on Hannity’s radio show yesterday and he talked all around gun control but never said, himself, clearly, that he’d stand firmly against any anti-2A measures. He is a ‘third way’ acolyte of the Tofflers and sees America as needing to shift in some ways to become ‘modern . . . viable . . . relevant . . . whatever.’

There are at least 2 aspects to this argument. +one is allowing or affording homosexual pairings liberty and the right to privacy. The second is conferring the title “marriage” on them. Many people, not the least many conservatives, would support or at least accept the first. Far fewer can go along with the second. Both issues matter, not just the first. Newt sounds he-s making a mistake.
