And describing Black male voters under thirty as “Lamont on(sic) the projects” gives the perfect example of why any reasonable member of that group would give us the middle finger. Good job.
Too late. The irreparable damage is done.
Full disclosure: I am white, but I grew up side-by-side with a very successful black man who now owns his own company and has 3 very beautiful, very intelligent children. He and I butted heads a LOT growing up, esp. in college where we separated for the duration of the 4 years. At the end of it all, he came over the Conservative side and wore his vote for Romney last month as a badge of honor.
I had dinner with him and his wife last year and actually saw what racism looked like when a group of black youths came to the Winghouse we were patronizing, sat at a nearby table and proceeded to call him an uncle Tom and a plantation nigger for marrying a white woman and sitting with his white friend. It was disturbing and sad to see that racism is still alive and well in this nation.
How times change. When the OldPossum graduated from college, only seven percent of Americans 25 years of age and older held bachelor's degrees.
The prestige of the degree seems to have been cheapened by the increased number of those who hold it, i.e., if almost everyone has accomplished something it's not special anymore.
Really!
Is there a more worthless group of people in the whole world?
