60 years ago, there was a really strong movement to end racism. What happened? (really nstupid question)

It's not a stupid question but the only answer I have is that the liberal grievance industry has ginned it up and 0bama has exploited it to the max. I worked with, partied with and went to school with numerous blacks in the '70s and '80s and I don't recall them carrying such a reactionary attitude towards whites then. Some had chips on their shoulders, sure, but they were the fringers. The losers.

Now it seems to be widespread and part of the mindset of popular, hip and successful blacks. I don't see any rational cause for it either considering how much less whites feel antipathy towards blacks than they did forty years ago.
