Three Top State Department Officials Resign Over Benghazi

Three top officials in the State Department resigned Wednesday in the wake of a scathing report which slammed "systemic failures" and "management deficiencies" in the attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, which resulted in the murder of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Assistant Secretary Eric Boswell, head of the bureau of diplomatic security, and Charlene Lamb, deputy assistant secretary for international programs, have stepped down, CNN and CBS television said, citing unnamed department officials.

Lamb, who was Boswell’s deputy in charge of international programs, denied requests from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli for an extension of temporary security forces that were withdrawn in the months before the Benghazi attack.

The third person expected to resign has not yet been identified.

The resignations came just hours after an independent panel issued a long-awaited inquiry into the terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, which has been blamed on Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists.

"Systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels within two bureaus of the State Department resulted in a Special Mission security posture that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place," the report said.

The report did not find reason for disciplinary action against any officials but singled out the bureaus of Diplomatic Security and Near Eastern Affairs for criticism, saying its leaders demonstrated a “lack of proactive leadership and management ability in their responses to security concerns.”

Do they go to public school? They might not accept your explanation. Remember the puppies in Animal Farm.

No. It’s time to treat them as they treat us. Make a mistake and they come down on us. Screw up and maybe look at prison. We all know if it was one of us it wouldn’t end with a resignation and probably keeping a pension. No we would then be grilled until we uttered one word that they could say changed our story and then prosecute. Thats how we the people are treated by government. There are two standards in this nation. One for them and one for us.Some how, some way we need to see laws passed to hold these people accountable for what they call mistakes on their part and criminal action on ours. No more being elected and being elevated to royalty. We got rid of royalty over 200 years ago.

The third person expected to resign has not yet been identified. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

They never give the identity of someone who has the potential to be a whistle blower.

One more chance for the beans to be spilled. This third person may even committ suicide like Hillery’s former staff attorney, Vince Foster.

What is the name of the 3rd PERSON? This is ridiculous.

I just attended my offical retirement ceremony at Main State last Friday; I had no confidence in this Administration and did not want to both work and risk my life for their vision(s) in diplomacy and the direction of the Country.

My children are grown, and their children are grown. One grandson served in Afghanistan, the other are two smart enough and aware enough to want to be informed and armed with the truth.

I recall the scene from the Andrews arrival of Steven’s body. HC was sobbing and the imposter in chief looked like he could care less and would have rather been somewhere else had the organ grinder loosened his strings, he would have been too.

I'm old enough to remember a press that actually pursued corruption.

Oh, wait, no: It only pursued events in a Republican administration.

Ok, never mind. Business as usual.

I tend to be a tad hopeful about these "resignations" (I believe they were forced "resignations").

I'm hoping that at least one of them will flip now that they're no longer employed. I'm hoping one of them will testify on covered-up stuff. I'm hoping one of them will be bitter. I'm hoping one of them will blow Hillary's and Obama's teflon-coated armor to smithereens.

I'm hoping that behind the scenes one of them who does not want to go public will secretly provide ammo for the questioners for use at the open investigative hearing....ammo that will blow the lid off the cover-up.

Hope springs eternal....but stranger things have happened, and we may actually get lucky with these "resignations".

Meanwhile, the true perps, Jarrett, O’Bommy, and Clinton skate away, “guilty as sin, free as a bird.”

Lamb, along with the other Obama fools murdered those people just as if they held a gun to their heads themselves..They should all be in jail..

Hey, and here we were told no one is responsible. Once again, Hillary Clinton proves she’s incapable of doing anything.
