The time for talking and discussion is over.
We’re arrived at the time when the intended purpose of the 2nd Amendment is the only option left to preserve liberty.
The longer it takes for enough Americans to realize that fact, the more impossible it will become to save life and liberty from the tyranny about to engulf us all.

I’ve got an idea. Since governments have by far the worst record in terms of “gun deaths”, let’s start the discussion with gun control....for the government.
Ban semiautomatics? OK, fine, but let’s start with a “trial measure”” that eliminates black guns for the FBI/BATFE/IRS etc.

I will also call my own representative to let him know of my displeasure with Mr. Boehner's call for "discussion" on the Second Amendment.
Additionally, I will be glad to contribute to any pro-2nd Amendment challenger for Mr. Boehner's House seat in 2014.
I will also call the RNC to let Mr. Priebus that the GOP needs to remain firm on this issue.
I don't think that the left can generate more hysteria-driven folly like the 1968 GCA, but Mr. Boehner's moronic capitulation to "discussion" doesn't help our side at all.
Mr. Boehner, rather than mewling about the 2nd Amendment, why don't you please do something useful? Clearly, we have far too much government; why not spend some time on, say, getting rid of the Department of Education?
Engaging the left when it is on yet another quest to exploit a tragedy in order to pass hysteria-driven laws is simply bad politics. Instead, move the discussion back to our vast over-spending; we are on the edge of taxmeggedon, and there are far more productive items for the Speaker of the House to be "discussing".

People are fond of saying that elections have consequences and that’s true. But it is also true that there are consequences for having gone out and rah rah’d a liberal gun grabber to lead the party.

WHY should Bohner fear a backlash? He has no reason to. He is VERY aware that GOP voters will continue to vote GOP no matter what they do. No matter how liberal their policies. No matter how many times they roll over and give the Democrats EVERYTHING they want.
And he knows that across the blogsphere, a significant number of the very people calling themselves ‘Conservative will run out like good little soldiers and make excuses for him, trash anyone who opposes the GOP and do everything within their power, including lying through their teeth, to ensure that Johnny and Co. get the votes come 2014/2016.
And since we have seen EVERY BIT of the above just play out in technicolor over the past several months, we should not be the least bit shocked.

Democrats, lefties, liberals, et al, want to ban guns and take them away from as many of us peons as possible. They want to make it harder for people to obtain guns. It’s not about safety or protecting anyone or stopping crime or more shootings, it’s about CONTROL. It always has bee about control. Of course, stupid people, who are already willingly giving up their guns, don’t realize this. But those people, IMO, don’t deserve to have guns anyway.
On the other hand, Republicans pussy foot around the issue, as usual. Instead of their tiptoeing around and trying not to step on any ones toes, they should be out there front and center, speaking plainly and clearly that gun control, regulations and restrictions are not the answer, never have been the answer and this “discussion” about guns, is irrelevant and a waste of everyones time. The basic fact is, we, as Americans, under the US Constitution, have a GOD GIVEN RIGHT to own a GUN. NO ONE has any right, whatsoever, to take or hinder that right. PERIOD!!!! So everyone needs to STFU about it.
Then, it won’t be politicized. See if you take the issue completely OFF the table, and refuse to discuss it, it no longer is something that can be politicized.
From there, the discussion SHOULD BE about the politicization that has been done THUS FAR and about removing any regulations and bans in place, to prevent people from choosing to carry (openly or not).
Look, IMO, the only thing that truly can be done with mentally ill “white boys” is to make people more aware and more prepared on mental health, and proper parenting. However, the federal government has no business in either issue. If the states wanted to develop programs to help with these issues, I’m all for that. But it shouldn’t be mandated or regulated. It should be ones choice to participate.
Oh, and another thing that would help, aside from allowing everyone that wants to, to carry....is providing free self defense classes to everyone that wants to learn.

It’s been decided. To stave off a full out ban on the evil black rifles, there will be a ban on importation and manufacture of magazines with a capacity higher than 30 rounds and probably even 20 rounds. There will be a limit on number of guns purchased and there will be a limit on ammunition purchased. They will also go after gun shows and there will be an intentional gumming up of the data collection and database updates of the NICS system to make it more difficult.
Of course none of this could have stopped the nutbag or will stop the next nutbag but it will be “something”..
They will do whatever they can and when the next shooting happens, they will say they need more.
