Boehner calls for 'discussion' on guns

Republicans need to "have a discussion on guns" in the wake of last week's grade-school massacre in Newtown, Conn., Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) told his conference Tuesday.

Speaking to his troops at a closed-door meeting in the Capitol, Boehner was mindful of conservatives' traditional opposition to new gun restrictions, emphasizing that Republicans wouldn't do "anything knee-jerk," according to a lawmaker in the room.

But the Speaker also said he wants to "de-politicize" the issue of gun violence, which has been thrust dreadfully into the national spotlight following the murder of 26 people — 20 of them young school children — at Sandy Hook Elementary School last Friday.

Now he’s joining dems in blaming guns for the crimes of a mentally ill wacko?

Gosh, why bother with two parties? Let’s just enact’s Immelt’s favorite system - a one party communist/fascist slave system? The KOS kiddos giggle at the piles of dead bodies. Utopia.

Proof positive that Boneher is nothing more than Obama's b*tch.

Lately he has brought bills to the floor which have only been able to pass with a majority of DEMOCRAT votes (such as the sequestration deal), knowing that the majority of the members in his own party opposed it.

The real question is why would the GOP vote this quisling as speaker again?

“have a discussion on guns” is simply political code for ‘ok, ok, lets work out some consessions’ - and - since Boehner has the spine of a jellyfish God knows what he’ll give away.

Speaking to his troops at a closed-door meeting in the Capitol...

So now he's a French General?

The most effective way to deal with this is to write your congressman. Be specific about what is wrong with Boehner's "leadership".

The correct way to handle this situation is just to let it blow over. The left will wave the bloody shirt they way they always do. Then they will get distracted by something else.

“Compromise” is exactly what has brought this nation to it’s knees. There can be no compromise between Constitutional rights and sacrificing them to foreign ideology.

The only acceptable conversation is to explore Switzerland and Israel’s more gun model.

“Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) noted the change on Tuesday, telling The Hill that the mood in the conference among “even the strongest gun supporters” is that they “don’t object to having a conversation about it — which is a big shift.”

hmmmm, these folks have developed amnesia. They are forgetting the voters that put them into office. Obama didn’t put them in office and Boehner didn’t put them in their lofty positions.

Seems like everyone is developing mental issues.

Um did that with the sequestration deal, went through anyway.

I will call anyway, but it seems obvious DC is a one party dictatorship now.

Republicans need to "have a discussion on guns"

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

End of Discussion!

I am so damn tired of boehner and other losers accepting the language of the left. Stand up formour views. Stop adopting terms like revenues, and discussion about guns. We have the worst leadership...ever. .

The Speaker does not have to be an elected representative. The Republicans could bring back Newt as Speaker. He would not have a vote but he would preside over the House. They could appoint Mark Levin or Rush Limbaugh speaker. Except for his age, I’d be in favor of Thomas Sowell.
