They won the campaign handily and even had $14.2 million to spare, but the Obama-Biden campaign is still raising money, this time off the president's comments about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in Connecticut.

In email from chief campaign advisor David Axelrod that urges supporters to watch President Obama's moving address to the community of Newtown, there are two links that open a page with a video player featuring the president's speech and two donate buttons asking for $15-$1,000 for his campaign.

"The next chapter begins today. Stand with President Obama for the next four years," headlines the donation page.

Isn’t there some law about collecting campaign cash after the campaign?

Dem. lawmaker: To get gun control, Obama must ‘exploit’ shooting
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/dec/14/dem-lawmaker-get-gun-control-obama-must-exploit-sh/

exploiting trajedy is what Dems do best.
this guy is a real man of genius:

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) argued at a news conference with the Congressional Out of Poverty Caucus that the United States does not currently have a budget crisis.

Photo-ops just bring the money flooding in to the coffers of the “Retain in Office at All Costs” campaign of the Current Occupant of the White Hut. Add to that the most excellent opportunity ever to impose a national gun registry and total restrictions on purchase, sale or exchange of anything but the most innocuous of sidearms.

This also keeps attention off the complete abdication of responsibility for averting the fiscal cliff, which, if nobody is noticing, is rapidly approaching, yet Bronco Bama refuses to negotiate in any serious vein. So far, Speaker Boehner is essentially negotiating with himself.

“The campaign is over isn’t it?”

The campaign to destroy and transform the country is an ongoing struggle, comrade.

The campaign never ends.

Donate and submit!

I don't know about the law but any decent person would not use such a tragedy for financial gain. Unfortunately and unsurprisingly this is the case. It's there, right on the website.

Raising money for his campaign for what? He can’t be president again.

He can’t be president again.

This is The Won! Sure he can. He trashed the Constitution and put Congress in a playpen his first term. He stole the election his second term. What's stopping him from a third term, fourth term, or lifetime of squatting in the WH.

I wouldnt be surprised in a couple years there is a drumbeat to keep him there for another term despite the Constitution. They will say, “it is to dangerous to change leaders now, we cannot risk a “unproven” leader.” Or, “he is to exceptional.” “We haven’t had an African American before” He is sacrificing his hard earned retirement for the sake of the country.

“unproven leader”....never had a job before....votes “present”...plays golf all the time.....hasn’t passed a budget and probably won’t. the people are fooled by his tactics as he leads from behind to drive us into socialism. I hope America wakes up soon.

I believe that is a fight he can’t win. I have confidence that there is no power on earth that can keep him in office beyond his second term. Maybe I’m dreaming, but I don’t think so. He doesn’t have enough goons to take out the nation as a whole.

America is not awake at all. Today at my job there was is a forum. On that forum there was someone trying to raise money for Sandy Brooke shootings and so on. This younger guy (27) next to me said, “Why is that necessary, I am sure obama will give the victim’s families some money.”?

I was thinking “wow”. There was so many wrong things with that statement I dont even know where to begin, but I didn’t begin of course, because its the office. I guess we set a precedence, every time something makes the news, people should expect money in the mail from the government. I guess we should think we are being charitable by paying our taxes. Especially when I see congress critters playing on their congressmen only golf courses. I guess we shouldn’t try to personally help a community, we should just wait for the leviathan government to do it for us.

FDR = 4 terms

He’s going after the 2nd so what’s to stop him from ripping up the 22nd. I can definitely see hussein claiming exectutive privilege, issue an EO, have Nancy ridicule congressweenies to vote it in, declare the Constitution racist because it was written by white slave owners or just announce one day that he’s Der Leader and be done with it.
