Sen. Chuck Schumer D-N.Y. asserted on the Senate floor this afternoon that the Second Amendment was “not absolute” comparing restrictions on assault weapons to restrictions on child pornography.
“No amendment can be absolute,” Schumer said. “I believe you can be pro-gun and pro gun safety, just like you can be in favor of free speech but also against child pornography.”
Schumer proposed an assault weapon bans for civilians arguing that it would be an acceptable restriction on the Second Amendment.
“We can come together,” he said. “There can be a way of moving forward in the middle.”
So, Chuckie likes Assault Weapons too?

Every time we “come together” with liberals it is an loss for us and they still aren’t satisfiied and we keep doing it until we’ve lost everything, that’s a big part of the reason we’ve arrived at where we are, our “Conservative” and “Republican” leaders have compromised until we have lost our country. I remember in the Sixties Sen.Everett Dirksen (R)Il. saying “Republicans and democrats had the same goals just a different way of arriving at them” I knew that was wrong, I was a Goldwater Conservative Republican And I knew the democrats were socialist, today they don’t even hide it and the media doesn’t care, wasn’t there another obama appointee last week or so that is proudly a communist?

By that logic we should similarly restrict free speech since in their day free speech meant a chat over a pint at the pub or literally getting up on your soapbox in the town square. We should control access to email, blogs (professional publishers and news organizations only), and in CA facebook pages will be limited in capacity to 5 friends or less. Sound ridiculous? So do the arguments against the 2nd Amendment.
