All it would take is a for a couple more Obama left wing justices on the SCOTUS and the Heller case could be overturned and the Second Amendment trashed. Obama now has his Reichstag fire and like Hitler in 1933 will use this “crisis” to curtail liberties starting with the Second Amendment.

It might be one thing to pass a federal law banning any sort of firearm. It will be something else to enforce it. It will be a third thing to get to those millions of firearms.

On the Sunday shows the Dems been saying that the Second Amendment protects hunting (animals I assume).

Maybe they need bigger ‘Gun Free zone’ signs, and put a big fine on it like on handicapped parking fine signs.

http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/right-own-gun-under-heller-30295.html

“The Court did endorse the “the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of ‘dangerous and unusual weapons,’” but did not state whether such weapons include assault weapons or semi-automatic weapons.”

By definition, a weapon is dangerous so the above is just tautology.

Congress failed to renew the Clinton AWB in 2004 because invidious discrimination between traditional semi-auto long arms and (evil) `black’ carbines was mere `form over substance’: political theater. The gun grabbers’ arguments don’t hold water.

Just between you, me and the fence-post though, the one feature we will have to be prepared to defend is the large capacity magazine.
I suspect `splitting the difference’ will result in a prohibition of transporting such magazines, e.g. to ranges, while allowing their possession at home. This would allow prosecution of `gangbangers’ and `Sandy Hook lunatics’.

The response to that is that gangbangers and lunatics will ignore such laws, so it has no prophylactic value. But the left doesn’t want to be confused with facts or logic. They just want “action”.

Will the media give up their First Amendment rights?

The Second Amendment guarantees all the other amendments.

To strip firearms from MILLIONS of Americans because of the murder of 20 children is absolutely INSANE.

Those who believe 0bama’s birth certificate is forged are called ‘birthers’ and 9/11 being a gov’t op are called ‘truthers’. If one believes that Adam Lanza was programmed to kill at Sandy Hook by a shadowy group advocating the overturning of our 2nd Amendment, would they be called ‘Hookers’?

I hope this isn’t true but if I heard correctly on KSFO this morning, the talk coming out of DC is the administration will circumvent the 2nd amendment by severely restricting if not halting the sale of ammunition and the components there of to the public. The obozo is going to do this by issuing an executive order. I have serious doubts that any in congress, fearing a visit from mob enforcer Bruno, will challenge any executive order issued from this fraud and chief in the WH.

Non-Democratic governments, the vast majority Marxist in nature, have killed in the vicinity of 260 million of their own citizens in the last century. These were non-combatants killed in a ratio of around 6:1 when compared to direct war deaths.

R.J. Rummel coined this type of murder "Democide".

Pol Pot, as just one example, killed 40% of the polulation of Cambodia. Families were separated, relocated, and "re-educated".

Read this excellently documented book for more information.

I cannot fathom the pain and grief of the parents of the victims of the latest school shooting. Evil always has and evil always will commit evil.

Millions of battle rifles in the hands of millions of Christians are the ONLY thing preventing this same evil from comitting the same scale of evil that has repeated 260 million times over the last 100 years.

Let us never forget the price that was paid to grant us this right of self defense. Let us never what government has done repeatedly to unarmed citizens. Let us never forget that the horror of what took place in Connecticut pales incomparison to what has taken place at the hands of Marxism over the last century.

MOLON LABE !

These politicians have forgotten that gun owners have long memories when politicians infringe on the 2nd Amendment. Gun owners do remember when election time rolls around and who was naughty or nice.

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court’s rulings do not cover ammunition or property taxes.

The American Revolution began when the British tried to disarm the Colonists.

Fitting that it ends with the Colonists demanding to be disarmed.

A few things need to be clear. First, the Founders of this nation did not put the 2nd Amendment in place to protect deer hunting. Second, the Bill of Rights is not a list of rights granted us by the government. The rights listed exist sans government. This document points them out lest the people in government forget. Third, when you hear that this is a republic and not a democracy that is not merely rhetoric. There is a stark difference between the two forms of governance. In a Constitutional Republic, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and may not be altered by a mere vote of the government. The majority does not have the power to remove rights from the minority…and some rights are unalienable, meaning they are not in the purview of governments.

The 2nd Amendment is there to insure the other ones are not usurped. It is there to make certain that any government we elect doesn’t become tyrannical or dictatorial. It is not there for hunters or even self-defense of our home from crime. It is there to provide protection from government seeking to take away freedom and liberty from the people. The Bill of Rights in its entirety will be protected by whatever means become necessary. That there are forces within our nation who have decided that our rights no longer serve them is immaterial to the existence of my right to bear arms. This is not a debate.

I am not interested in the give and take of opinions about basic rights - others opinions of my basic rights doesn’t matter to me. You don’t have a say in whether I have free speech or the right of self-determination. It was a violent revolution that put the government out of the “granting rights” business. It will take another such action to change that.
