All “registered owners” of vehicles weighing more than 26,000 GVW have received this letter over the past couple weeks. This edict, only applies to diesel powered vehicles used as a function of business. Privately used vehicles are exempt, at this time. Compliance is very expensive, Diesel Particulate Filters, start around $10,000.00 per vehicle. New vehicles are as high as, $140,000.00. This is an enormous expense to California business owners, which obviously will be passed on. California business also has to comply with a carbon credit scam and undoubtedly, the future recension of Prop 13 protection of commercial property.
There are no words that can describe the insanity of the people controlling this state.

My husband and I own a place out in the high desert of Riverside County, the HOA was formed to maintain the dirt roads there.
We have five large machines that fall in this category. To fit them to what the state wants and cover the costs (even using the reserves for truck maintenance) our HOA fees are going to double.
We can use the reserves for this purpose but when they are depleted, there is time limit on build back...
that community is screwed either way.
I can’t imagine what a small or medium business will go through, probably many will just shut down.
Surely this will apply to all those vehicles coming over the border from our great neighbors to the south as well.
Yes, I agree. I’m very familiar with Agenda 21. It’s just maddening to watch it happen in this beautiful state, with no resistance what so ever.
I found an old fuel truck that had it's tank coated with asbestos insulation and had to leave Calif., but didn't go back to buy it. Looks like there is going to be number of those available in a couple of years.
I would imagine they are exempt also, due to their Political compliance.

It will filter down to the other States in time. But, what the hell, On November 6,2012 the people had a choice and stuff like this is what they chose.
Why don’t they just ban all trucks and get it over with?
If I had one of the described vehicles and got a haul to California I would refuse the haul.
I’m sure they’re doing it for “the children”.
No cost is too great in the quest for zero pollution, not even zero economy.
Several years ago our sister-in-law (a liberal environmental lawyer in DC) was bragging how they got Albuquerque to pass an emissions test requirement for all vehicles registered in the county. She stated it would remove almost all the smog in the city. When I asked what about the 40% of the population that lives outside the county that drives up to 40 miles each way every day to go to work in Albuquerque, shouldn't they also undergo the testing? She said no, because they live outside the county. Yet they add tons of matter to the air every day I said. She said it doesn't matter.
End result, Albuquerque still looks like LA, no change, yet thousands of people have to pay good money every year for nothing. Big waste.
Typical Lib Logic, move the pollution somewhere else. It really makes you heart sick to see perfectly good equipment, go through the shears at the scrap yards, then head to China.

There will be a large number of truckers who will avoid delivering in CA due to those reg’s. Supply and demand will raise the transportation cost of everything brought to the state.
It depends on air quality. Absolutely no emissions tests in this state. I had a mechanic repeat what you just posted over ten years ago. Still hasn’t happened. As long as the air quality doesn’t deteriorate, it won’t.
