Lot’s of people have Asberger’s, and they don’t go around shooting children.

Lots of brilliant people who have made large contributions to society. Van Gogh, Jefferson, Edison are speculated to have had it. Hell, most of the engineers I have known are certainly candidates.

Some people who have Asberger’s develop schizophrenia. It is suspected that Einstein had Asberger’s and that is one reason he was so obsessed with math and physics. Many people with the disorder have absolutely amazing abilities like the guy in England who recited Pi to 5000 decimal points without a single mistake. That same man learned Icelandic in 24 hours. Enough to go on television and do a whole interview in the language. Einstein’s son Eduard was a schizophrenic. It is heritable. At least that is what I have read. It might be that the shooter wasn’t evil but that he was just not in touch with reality. It is a shame that he wasn’t locked up in a mental ward.

Asperger’s isn’t associated with violence. However, I’ve seen unbelievable cruelty toward kids with Asperger’s by teachers and students alike. I wonder if this guy wasn’t treated that way as a child at the school.

I've lived with Asperger's my entire life; it hasn't been the easiest life, but it hasn't been the hardest either.

I'm what the shrinks call a Dreamer; I find a field of study that I like and I focus on it to the exclusion of almost everything else. Yes it makes me somewhat awkward in social settings (I don't always realize that other people aren't quite as interested in something that I find fascinating), but it hasn't stopped me from grabbing life by the horns and living it to its fullest. If anything, the fact that I analyze things to such a great extent has shown me just how fragile life truly is, so I am inclined to get the most out of every day that I am on this Earth.
