State police are responding to a report of a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dickinson Drive, school officials said.
Police are reporting a number of injured parties. The nature of their injuries is not clear.
There are unconfirmed reports of two shooters — one dead, one still at large.

If a shooter is dead, I’ll bet a gun was used to stop him.
You should just agree with her saying criminals should not have guns.
Possibly his own. If it was a workplace issue, or a personal/domestic issue, often the shooter will commit suicide. In fact, this would be a high probability guess, since (thank the Lord) there hasn't been a report of kids harmed.
I understand your point, but it would do no good and I would just get aggravated.......which is a total waste of energy.

Obviously, this stuff is news, but sometimes I wish it was downplayed, so as not to stir up the other nuts.
OK, I’ll say it, at the risk of alienating our libertarian friends. This is a result of moral decay. TV, music, movies, internet, God removed from schools, all of it. We’ve always had guns, we’ve always had periods of economic turmoil, we’ve always had disputes. But we haven’t always had massacres on a regular basis ...
Channel 3 reporter says that at least 1 person was shot in the foot and has been transported to hospital.
They have no other reports of person(s) being shot, but say that other ambulance services have been responding and may or may not have taken anyone from the scene.

NBC-CT reports that the school principal is confirmed dead. Per one student, he/she saw some other students injured (shot?). Police are acting as if they are still looking for an active shooter.
Schools in Monroe (adjoining town/city) are on lockdown because of this incident.
One person — the shooter — is dead, per WNBC.

NBC-CT interviewed one student earlier. The female student said she heard 7 ‘booms’ before the gym teacher had students huddle in the corner. Student said she heard additional ‘booms’ but didn’t not say how many, while they were huddling.
Gabby, you need to block her. It’s the only thing they understand. I’ve blocked and deleted dozens of people, family included, on FB. It’s all they deserve.

It is time to eliminate the ban on weapons at schools, and openly allow trained CCW folks to carry while dropping off and picking up their kids.

I remember once at work during lunch someone was talking bad about guns.. I said “We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for guns”, thinking I made a pro-American ‘feel good’ statement.. Well, I guess the 4 or 5 Mexican-Americans nearby felt a bit differently about my comment. LOL

I remember a Vestry meeting shortly after the concealed carry laws were changed here adding churches to permissible places to carry. Well, the Pastor decided to bring up the subject because the Parish itself can still prohibit. One of the senior members just looked at the Pastor and said “You don’t want to go there.” When she asked why he just said, Trust me, you don’t need to know. Subject has never come up again.
