Left-Wing Ideology Now Rules Supreme In America
Townhall.com ^ | December 13, 2012 | Douglas MacKinnon

News flash for conservatives, Christians, libertarians or anyone in America who embraces traditional values, the rule of law, common sense, basic math, a more secure nation or politicians who put you and your family first: You have lost or are losing across the board. Period.

With the re-election of Barack Obama — and he and his campaign should be congratulated for not only running a winning campaign but, more importantly, for also exploiting the weaknesses created by the nanny-state — there is now no more mystery or doubt. Liberal ideology rules supreme in our country and to say otherwise, is to deny the facts.

This winning liberal ideology — or theology to many on the far left — has been aided, abetted, guided and shaped by many in the mainstream media who now openly turn their backs on ethics, professionalism and character in favor of evangelizing for their new faith.

Be it the major networks, the cable networks or most of the top newspapers in the country, all now have highly influential personnel who have deliberately cast aside morality for liberal victory at any price.

Unfortunately, much worse than that, many of these same media personalities and outlets have added character assassination of conservatives or conservative viewpoints to their rhetorical arsenals.

The most egregious and recent example of this being when the editorial writers for the Washington Post gleefully smeared almost 100 Republican House members with the charge of racism. In their jumping-the-shark attack titled, "The GOP's Bizarre Attack On Susan Rice," the Washington Post wondered:

"Could it be, as members of the Congressional Black Caucus are charging, that the signatories of the letter are targeting Ms. Rice because she is an African-American woman? The signatories deny that, and we can't know their hearts.

"What we do know is that more than 80 of the signatories are white males, and nearly half are from states of the former Confederacy. You'd think that before launching their broadside, members of Congress would have taken care not to propagate any falsehoods of their own."

Right Surrenders

Amazingly, the Republican leadership just took this false and obscene charge on the chin. Rather than taking to the airwaves to demand an apology from the Post and rounding up a good legal team to sue for defamation, the GOP leaders went silent.

Of course, this would be the same leadership that threatens the few conservatives in the House with expulsion from committee assignments if they don't tow the "water down our principles" line, so their ducking an issue of integrity may be understandable.

In and of itself, that's yet another glaring example of why the liberals now control the megaphone of America and rule supreme. All too often, conservatives, Christians and anyone who espouses traditional values will simply wring their hands and say "what are we to do" when their beliefs are attacked or eradicated.

The polar-opposite of that being the reaction from the far left when they feel threatened. Be it gay marriage, the unsustainable and economy-destroying benefits for public-employees, "global warming," ObamaCare, extending unemployment benefits to infinity, open borders, legalizing drugs or a host of other issues, many on the far left will fight tooth and nail to defend that which is dear to them.

They will march, they will boycott, they will harass, they will cyber-attack, they will be relentless. And finally, they will intimidate many politicians and corporations into complete capitulation.

As to why those who believe in traditional values and the rule of law don't fight back, it's because everywhere they turn, they see the battle lost.

The media? The far left controls it. Entertainment? The far left controls it. Education from pre-school to post-graduate? The far left controls it. Music? The far left controls it. Pulitzer and Nobel prizes? The far left controls them. The unions? The far left controls them. Historians? The far left are the historians.

The "message" of America? The far-left dictates it.

Somewhere along the way, conservatives and all who believe in traditional values ceded every single bully-pulpit to the far left. The evidence is clear:

The far left has won, and its power grab and influence continues unabated. Now what?

Of course they did. They share the 'Rats' aversion to social conservatives, especially Southern ones -- because so many RiNOs are homosexual or other liberals themselves, educated in East Coast privlege academies to despise everyone and everything west of the Catskills or south of Mason-Dixon.

This is a major working meme of the Left. "Social conservative = drooling Southern cracker = Neo-Nazi manburner". This is their Goldstein rant, their Two Minutes' Hate that they've used for 190 years, to divide the agrarian West from the agrarian South, and place the whole country into the hands of a few score Northeastern industrialists.

That's what it's been all about since the time of John Quincy Adams.

Conservatives who don’t go to museums, conservatives who have never been to the ballet, conservatives who think that James Michener’s novels are an example of literature, conservatives whose last contact with jazz was a Tommy Dorsey record, conservatives who have little contact with major cities, conservatives whose idea of contemporary cuisine is food cooked in a crockpot, conservatives who have no interest in and take no delight in arts, letters, music -—
are suddenly complaining that a bunch of bad guys have taken total control of all the things that you showed no interest in, know nothing about, do not participate in, and despise.
And the fault for that lies where.......?

I respectfully disagree. Facts say that people who don't embrace those ideals are the ones who are emphatically the biggest losers in most measurable aspects of life. I think if the point is that traditionalists are losing the argument in favor of those ideals, I believe it is a transitory loss.

Satisfaction in life is not gained by flaunting traditional values unless failure is your goal. There are numerous and profound examples of this which trace their source straight to the loss of traditional values. That is the message thay we must continually drive home each and every day of our lives as we seek to make an impression on the poor and uneducated. Abdicating our authority to pass that message along is what got us into this position. We must be bold and humble in communicating this to our fellow human beings whoever and wherever they are.

The mainstream media doesn’t need to be destroyed, it just needs to be bought. The $2 billion that Karl Rove frittered away would have been a great start on that.

Statement: "Left-Wing Ideology Now Rules Supreme In America"

Response: Agreed.

Comment: The left has worked hard to achieve their current dominance. Over the years the left captured control of all major institutions that influence public opinion such as: church, businesses, schools, media, and education.

Further, the left has been far more intelligent than has the conservative. Leftist propaganda has been masterful, relentless and effective.

Finally, leftists have been acting as one in achieving their goals. When a leftist theme is to be promulgated they move as a choreographed ballet.

Enough, already, everybody, with the negative commentary. Constant feeding of negative thoughts IS a negative.

We know what the situation is that we as a people and a country are in. Yes, it does look overwhelming, BUT now that we've acknowledged this point, let's look on to what we can do about it. How about if we FReepers give positive, what we can do, commentary as each subject comes up? For one thing, we must associate with like-minded people, like-minded organizations like Americans for Prosperity, Glenn Beck's 912 Project groups, I can't remember the name of this organization, but it has to do with Brent Bozell and is out of California, but it is another good group, YOUR LOCAL TEA PARTY PATRIOTS group, just to name a few.

OK, now let's get to work on the POSITIVE...what we can do as a people to resist, push back, oppose, delay, obstruct obozo’s attempts/decrees/demands/ against the Constitution, our liberty and freedom. DO what the freedom fighters of wars past have done...DON'T sit around and moan about the bleakness of our situation and how it will never change in our lifetime, that we are doomed...you get the idea. Instead, ask yourself what you CAN do about it....and then get up off the chair and get out there with others and make use of ideas you're read, of ideas that you've brain-stormed with other like minded people, and then put these ideas to use...WE ARE AMERICANS under occupation of a socialist/communist/fascist/jihadist, sharia law loving enemy of the people. Face it and then get to work to deflect it until we can DEFEAT IT.

Conservatives and Christians are on one side.

Liberals and libertarians are on the other side, we can’t win the war against the West and civilization as long as we keep counting the left’s commandos, as part of our side.

Libertarian Party Platform:

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Abortion; zero restrictions or impediments.

Pornography; no restraint, no restrictions.

Drugs; Meth, Heroin, Crack, and anything new that science can come up with, zero restrictions.

Advertising those drugs, prostitution, and pornography; zero restrictions.

Military Strength; minimal capabilities.

AEMILIUS - I don’t think “Left Wing Ideology Now Rules In America” That statement presupposes that Obama voters have an ideology or know what Obama’s is. If this were true, how does the GOP control congres and 60% of the governorships and state houses in America?????

I’m willing to say that 90% of Obama voters had no idea what he stood for prior to voting for him in either election. The election of Obama in America is nothing more than voting for 6th grade class president - all based on popularity and who your friends said they were voting for.

That’s nice, Captain Cut N Paste.

Good luck getting the soccer moms to defend your rights to own guns, for cutting the size of government and cutting your taxes and getting real cuts to spending. You guys do have so much in common, like the overwhelming desire to force everyone to live the way you think they should at the barrel of a gun. Just as long as someone else is doing it for you.

Enjoy your permanent political minority status. The big differnce between you and libertarians is that we’re used to it.

23 posts before any common sense. Sage advice.

The rest of you, stop the pity party and read post #23 again, again and again.

This is not the type of attitudes Freeper’s are suppose to have. Remember “Get out of Dick Chaney’s House!” protests? How about the day’s of Clintoon?

Knock it off or we’ll demand JimRob send you back to DU, Huffpo or some other rock you crawled out from underneath.

You just identified yourself as agreeing with the bulk of left’s agenda and supporting their culture destroying gains against America during the last 60 years.

That is what I was pointing out about you guys.

Changing the vocabulary to promote this agenda doesn’t make it any less leftist.

Throw open the borders completely; only a rare individual (terrorist, disease carrier etc.) can be kept from freedom of movement through “political boundaries”.

Homosexuals; total freedom in the military, gay marriage, adoption, child custody and everything else.

Cutting and pasting the same tired reply doesn’t strengthen your argument. You don’t want to find any common ground with people who mostly just want the government to act within boundries of the clear wording of the constitution. You want big government in your marriages, in your bedrooms and in your bodies, even though the supreme law of the land does not grant it that power. Your desire to force people to live the way you want them to is too strong. The idea of being free is too frightening for you. You know that the only thing keeping you from becoming a divorced, homosexual, illegal mexican drug addict is big government.

I was posting facts of the left’s agenda, a list, not an argument.

Your call for homosexual marriage and the entire homosexual agenda and abortion is obscene.

Where? Since you’re so good at cutting and pasting, you can cut and paste my call for the whole homosexual agenda? Was it the part where the constitution does not give the federal government the power to get involved in marriages? Really? So does pointing out that the constitution forbids chattle slavery also mean being in support of the whole homosexual agenda? The power to get involved in marriages isn’t there. Calling me names isn’t going to put it there. Or is it a “living, breathing document” like the liberals claim.

You left out abortion.

Homosexual marriage is becoming accepted in America, pick a side, fight it, or fight AGAINST the people who are fighting it.

It’s not my fight. I have other things to worry about. Honestly at this point, complaining about gays who want to play married is like bitching about the crab grass in the front yard when your roof has caved in on the house.

Yeah...whatever. Knock yourself out. I’m about as interested in defending the joke that has become the institution of big government “marriage” as I am in defending big government health care or big government education.

You want to really piss off the homosexuals? Don’t just support gay “marriage”, demand they be subjected to it. They have no right to be protected from the kind of court screwing millions of straight men face every year.

Honestly, this joke of an institution you’re so hot to defend is little more than pre authorizing a guy in a long black dress to decide how your property gets split up in the no fault divorce system, which happens in more than 50% of marriages anyway. And no, a couple of chicks in Austin who decided to stop driving stick and play house didn’t do that. Do a little research on who was the first governor to sign no fault divorce into law, then get back to with this “defending marriage” silliness.
