MULVANE, Kansas -- A 31-year-old burglary suspect is listed in serious but stable condition after he was shot in the chest by a homeowner in rural Mulvane.
It happened about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the homeowner found the man in his garage and held him at gunpoint while his wife called 911.
"The suspect threatened him, came at him," said Capt. Mike Yoder with the Sumner County Sheriff's Department. "He fired one round. It struck him in the upper chest."

Burglar shot in upper left chest, expected to survive after being flown by helicopter to a hospital. One article described the burglar as “white”. Interviewed homeowners in the area said that there has been a recent surge in burglaries.
Doesn’t matter what color th Burglar is.
Put a Band-aid over the hole and see if he survives.
I just thought it was interesting that one (of many) news sources noted that he was white. Typically they don’t do that.
Typically the brotha's be black.
Not quite accurate....they always report if the perp was white.....However if the perp is black, there is no reference to race.....
