Of course, you are correct. The truth is the truth and the truth is worth paying attention to, no matter who speaks it.
But the issue is something like the "Cassandra Complex" in which someone tells the truth on a regular basis but is disbelieved on all occasions (Cassandra was cursed by Apollo and got this as her fate). It's from Greek Tragedies. Once people determine that you are unreliable, it doesn't matter what you say, no one listens.
For many, WND is no longer something to heed. Their words are not considered -- their name is enough to "disprove" whatever assertion they make.

Good point! BTW, WND is not a blog. They have an extensive (but dubious) list of “disreputable” commentators. I believe Joseph Farah, the founder/owner, is the only daily commentator.
