Ambassador Anna Wintour? (to the court of St. James) Yikes
Savannah News Now ^ | December 11, 2012 - 6:28am | Lane Filler

It’s been 200 years since the United States kicked off a shooting war with Great Britain, but that nation may be wondering if we’re looking to start another scrap.

What else could be signified by rumors that Vogue editor Anna Wintour could be our next ambassador to the Court of St. James’s?

One can only imagine befuddled, monocled British public servants on the phone with the White House: “Dear Lord, is it something we said?”

Wintour is most famous for a fictional film depiction of her life, “The Devil Wears Prada,” in which she was ... the devil. She insists on sitting separately from other journalists at fashion shows. She cannot bear to be at parties for more than 20 minutes. It’s said her employees are not allowed to ride elevators with her, or start conversations.

As for tact, Wintour once said of Minneapolis, she could “only kindly describe most of the people I saw as little houses.” I hope Londoners are getting plenty of exercise, and laying off the bangers and mash.

If these jobs matter so little that they can be handed to whoever can corral the most cash, they don’t need to exist. They shouldn’t go to people famous for an inability to play well with others.

If you can enrage Minnesotans, we don’t need you representing the United States on the world stage.

As someone else observed, making Anna Wintour an ambassador is the equivalent of Caligula making his horse a consul.

Please, Brits, forgive us.

We are right in the middle of a real life episode of “Idiocracy”.

One would have to add up at least the top 100 of the occupants of the White House in order to reach room temp IQ.

Don’t worry about a conflict with us.

The Obamadork is doing a good job of generating a conflict with the population that will gestate in the not too distant future.

Can we get the guy that played John Adams in the TV movie? He technically has more experience at the job then the *sigh* editor of a magazine.

Open a consulate in Milan so she can get lost in the fashion world and not do anything harmful.

Thanks for the clarification. I kept seeing these articles mentioning “Anna Wintour”. Not knowing who (what?) she is, I had paid no attention.

Now that I’ve read this post, I’d say that appointing her as ambassador to Great Britain would be proof-positive that the current occupant of the White House is a certifiable maniac.

How much does Obama hate England? First, he sends Churchill’s bust back in a box. Then, he insults the Queen by giving her an iPod filled with his horrible speeches. Now, he seems about to appoint as Ambassador a woman who has a well-deserved reputation as being a Psycho Bitch from Hell. Nice.

If naming Anna Wintour Ambassador to a major ally is like Caligula making his horse a Senator, then Obama has made at least 25 horses Senators over the past four years.

In fact, I can’t think of a single major appointment of his that makes any sense.

0bama is not stupid, nor is he irrational. 0bama is evil and fairly clever.

0bama's purpose is to diminish, denigrate, or destroy these United States of America at every turn, in every way, and by any means necessary. 0bama's goal is to reduce these United States to a world status below that of his beloved, native Kenya.

If you view his appointments, his policy decisions, his executive orders, and his proposed legislation in that light, I believe that you will find everything he does to be completely sensible ... and completely evil.

Why not? FDR sent Joe Kennedy to the Court of St. James. Should have sent him to the Kremlin.

Ah, Joe Kennedy, I could go on and on about him...

Oh, yes, I agree. Hillary clinton as Sec of State. She is entirely unqualified, having never done a day’s work in her life—except the Whitewater scam. But she’s a Muslim-loving Communist, so that suits her find.

Or Sebelius, a big-time baby-killer, to preside over “health.”

Or a Communist traitor as Defense Secretary.

Or a nutball as head of the EPA.

None of them is qualified—except to undermine and wreck whatever they’ve been put in charge of.

From the way he acted, he should have been dropped off in Berlin.

He looks like her butler in that pic, except that he undoubtedly has miniscule knowledge of etiquette and appropriateness.

Well, I find it ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.

I’m sure Edie and Patsy will be live in guests the whole time she is there.

Maybe we could petition Husseino to send Michael Savage to the Court of St James, instead?

What a joke! She is not even a real American. A frivolous foreigner who bundled money for Obama gets to be an Ambassador. Overt corruption.

The Brits hated Joe Kennedy and he was later replace by John Gilbert (Gil) Wynant a former two term Republican Governor from New Hampshire. The Brits loved Wynant (who was kicked out of the Republican Party due to affection for the New Deal). FDR sent him to England so that he couldn’t run against him. Wynant had an affair with Churchill’s daughter Sara and, after returning to the US after the war, shot himself in despair over losing her. I’ve often wondered if Ayn Rand had him in mind when she created the Gail Wynant character in “The Fountainhead”, who also shot himself in the head over a woman among other things.
