How Liberals Think: Mika Says 'It's Kind Of Simple'—Just Pay Workers More
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 12/11/2012 6:54:56 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

I post this item not to mock Mika Brzezinski. But her comments this morning were so illustrative of the liberal mindset--in ignoring fundamental principles of economics--that they are worth highlighting here.

An entire Morning Joe segment had been devoted to discussing the wage dilemma in America. In the context of analyzing the right-to-work law soon to be signed in Michigan, the panel—apparently excepting Mika—agreed that we face hard choices here. We can artificially preserve high wages for a relative few, or let wages seek their natural level, providing more jobs at lower pay. As Joe Scarborough put it, we have to decide if we want jobs to go to China, or remain here, understanding that if we want them to stay, wages cannot remain at levels in existence before America was forced to compete internationally. All this was apparently lost on Mika. In the following segment, insisting "it's kind of simple," Mika argued that employers making big profits should pay their workers more. "Why not? I don't get it," miffed Mika about "greedy" bosses. As former Obama car czar Steve Rattner gently explained, "it's capitalism."

I often hear atheists, liberals and socialists (the same thing, really) talk about how religion is the opiate of the masses. I say it’s their delusions of economics and social norms that are the opiate that keep the masses stupefied (see Detroit). And many of them actually believe the propaganda. She is one of them. She thinks she sounds smart, but really, she sounds like the ass she is. Working at MSNBC really does make a person dumber.

Profit sharing? Hmm... Ok, how much profit should the owners distribute to the workers? 10%? 20%? This was the problem in sports.

The players unions wanted 53% of the profits because they play the game. The owners wanted 53% of the profits because they own the business. Next thing you know, there are no games, the owners are taking the writeoff and the players are stuck living on their million dollar a year plus salaries.

You must understand that the entire lib mindset on the economy, which derives from Lord Keynes and before him mercantilism, is that there’s a big pile of money out there going to waste. All they have to do is take it away from rich people, stick it anywhere else (even with other rich people), and whammo. Problem solved.

As accurate and succinct an explanation as I've read anywhere...

you lied to your daughter. You had the money, you just didn’t believe a Barbie vanity was worth you giving the store a hundred bucks. She probably knew you were lying. Kids are smart like that.

So, better you had said she could chip in, say $10 and you guys could buy it together, or she could wait for Christmas or a birthday.

Still, I understand your point was that she thought you could go get some money (which you could have because you could organize a hundred bucks). That is what liberals think and they are right. Business does have some money, but, like you, business is not convinced what is offered is worth the money. To a liberal, the fact that they “need it” is enough to make you fork it over, the fact that you don’t see how it helps your bottom line is irrelevant to a liberal.

Can liberals really be this clueless about capitalism? Ping to Today show list.

She’s never owned a business and made payroll.Like so many of these libs, they have spent their careers in academia or media, or politics. Therefore they have no practical understanding of market forces.

Can liberals really be this clueless about capitalism?

I see two camps in liberalism: the low information voter and the elitists who manipulate them. Elitists are not ignorant of the laws of economics, they just despise them and want to replace them with a new set of laws. That is the whole idea of communism and socialism.

In the service of that goal it is not corrupt to resort to lying, manipulation, or even corruption itself, to destroy the corrupt system. Hence, Obama is in a win-win situation with respect to the fiscal Cliff and its sequelae, if the economy crashes he brings it one step closer to ultimate transformation.

I do not see how we can win future elections with the top down argument as effectively as Romney made it (or at least as effectively as we at the time thought he was making it), if we are dealing with about 50% of the population who are so low information they do not understand even the most elementary laws of economics. We cannot win these arguments at the polling booth anymore because the people who understood the laws of economics, much like the people who understood the Constitution or the laws of decency, have to a degree died out.

The Frankfurt School began at the bottom and worked up through our educational system, infecting our institutions, distorting our vocabulary, dominating our culture, and leaving a free people defenseless. Against this, top-down electioneering in the last nine months of a four-year cycle is probably hopeless.

"Can liberals really be this clueless about capitalism?"

Clueless isn't the appropriate word. It's "stupid". No one can be as clueless as she, without being simply stupid.

Mika is like the woman who asked her husband “Well, why don’t they just print a whole bunch of money and pay off the national debt?”

But don’t you know that all of these companies have a secret stash where they can get the extra money to pay higher wages. That’s what a bunch of Hope and Change types believe. We’re neck deep in trouble already and it’s only going to get worse.

Exactly. They're simply using government to break into the nice houses in the nice neighborhoods. And like any thug robbing someone they think is "rich", if they don't get enough out of the wallet, things are likely to get ugly fast. When they try to raid a "rich" company, and don't get enough, then they'll start smashing things... in this case, the economy.

“Can liberals really be this clueless about capitalism?”

The answer is simple:
Yes, they can be.
And yes, they are.

What can we expect, when they’ve been “educated” from a Gramsican, socialistic viewpoint? The results are entirely logical and predictable.

Their worldview is approaching 180 degrees opposite of yours. From their viewpoint, everything they believe is logical — to them.

This goes to the root of “Divided America”. We are becoming “separate nations”, with a gap between that is all-but unbridgeable.

There can be no reconciliation with an “other side” which embraces precepts and mores which are diametrically opposed to your own...

It disheartens me to no end, but I have come to the same conclusion. I have begun to believe that discussing partisan politics is now pointless. The only discussions worth having are those that focus on surviving the total adoption of Marxism and the subsequent economic collapse of the U.S.

I’m sure you are familiar with this quote, but I think it captures that of which you speak. I added to it to make it more precise.

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress (democrats) discovers that it can bribe the public (buy votes) with the public’s money.

She is so full of sh!t like the selfish ho she is.

If you pay workers more, then they have no need for promotion, hence we have decay.

Liberals want both the pay increase with promotion but not the greedy boss who pays workers less? What utter load of horse crap. They love it when Obama cheats and becomes rich cheating, but the CEO’s pay is unfair? First of all, if there was no liability suit involved to daddy and other individuals, there would not be CEOs. But feminist man hating hos like Mika is pushing for the very corporatism and statism that brings burkas on herself.

My wage would effectively double if the price of oil would go down as a result of the right policy, without cutting into my boss’ salary, which, as the economy grows, becomes an enviable position.

Mika! to get a pay increase, you get a promotion, not minimum wage which is paid back in increased product costs and prices, lower tax revenues and cut into your promotion pay check. You also have a pay increase if you let people dig in their own backyard for their own oil without government regulatorial interference.

What a fracking dolt.

Liberals always conveniently err on the side of bashing the opposing dude. When discussing a policy, they say Romney does it too. Which might be true, but the REAL TRUTH is that liberals still embrace that wrong position.

They posit it as choosing the right guy, when in fact they are embracing hate and bad views, and they are in denial about it. And then they hypocritically support their guy in blindness while telling us to watch out with our guy. And thus Mika is a demagogue for 5 min fame, she is the essence of the cultivation of the “me just for me” persona. Obama is an extention ofthesupport of themselves even in the most heinous of crimes, claiming like the Germans “we did not know”.

Yes, they did know and you do know when you back stab someone in secret and hides it from them for 40 years of Civil Rights.
