Yes,
The prisons (concentration camps) did use forced labor like the Nazi’s.

>> Murder and the threat of murder does have a way of keeping the people in line.

Consequently, the 2nd Amendment.

Excuse me...
That is precisely what makes China communist.

When all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating dictatorship by very definition makes China Communist.

You are correct, and the cheerleader for the Communist Chinese is patently wrong

The former Yugoslavia had many of the same “features” as the current Communist China....actually, Yugo. had more...there was a little more personal freedom and not as much government intrusion

However...the world, and, Yugoslavia, never argued when Yugo. was referred to as Communist

Communist China retains many aspects of Communism: Central Planning, Strict party membership rules (nomenclature), and the ever famous Politburo.

As one of my professors told me: “Some people think China is no longer Communist because they opened a few McDonals there”.

Well, yes, that’s pretty obvious. The right, of course, exists with or without a written guarantee. Even with a legal guarantee the right is useless if there is no will to employ it.

>Any system with many aspects of a free market economy,

The Chinese basically adopted those aspects as a means to an end. Take a look at the current constitution of Communist China to see what they’re really about.

http://english.people.com.cn/constitution/constitution.html

Such as Articles 1-7, 15-24.

Red China is of course still a one-party state. Over there, what the government gives, the government can take away, should they feel like it.

Even the USSR had millionaires.

If you’re looking for a “true communist country”, then you are looking for a pipe dream. The Manifesto goes no further than making the socialist state all-powerful and lying about it “wither(ing) away”. So no need to bother talking about the lie.

“Even the USSR had millionaires.”

In China as in the USSR They just happen to be members of the controlling state party (dictatorship).

Just a coincidence of course.

Sure, that’s why the USSR didn’t fall.

Used to be that people who talked like that went the way of the Rosenbergs.

Here’s the Wikipedia definition: “Communism (from Latin communis - common, universal) is a revolutionary socialist movement to create a classless and stateless social order structured upon common ownership of the means of production, as well as a social, political and economic ideology that aims at the establishment of this social order.”

Since that definition defines 'communism' as "stateless" no nation would ever qualify. That definition also seems to require a perpetual revolutionary movement be in existence.

Then move there Immelt and take GE with you.

Typical liberal, they love tyranny as long as it “works for them” in the short run.

If he and his ilk didn’t destroy our government trying to stop their competitors, we wouldn’t have the ridiculous system of taxing and regulating that a-holes like Immelt think makes China better because they don’t.

It’s like Obama once giving us minions a lecture on how we used to build big things in short periods of time. Never once does anyone reflect the irony of the fact that back then there was no EPA, OSHA, DOE, DOL, etc. constantly making them dot and ‘i’ and cross a ‘t’ else they shut the project down for thirty days.

GO TO HELL LIBS!

Folks like Immelt who seem to like the communist
system should be made to live under it for a few
years. Take away his big ceo ID and drop him
off in the hinterlands of China some where.

Mark Steyn wrote something about the lefts occasional outbursts of (alarming) honesty regarding their admiration for the ‘efficiency’ of totalitarian States. Wish I could remember what it was.
It was in ‘America Alone’.
