Global concerns over Syria’s chemical weapons stockpiles grew after U.S. officials this week privately said the regime had begun mixing chemicals that could be used for the lethal nerve agent sarin.
On Saturday, Syrian told the United Nations that it would never use chemical weapons against its peoples and warned that opposition fighters are the ones who could use chemical weapons.
But videos uploaded on the web by activists proved otherwise.
The video showed the destruction caused by what they identified as chemical weapons. They said the fire was caused by a tank dropped from a Syrian warplane and was uncontainable by either water or dirt and was releasing toxic substance as it was bubbling underneath the ground.
In another video, armed opposition captured equipment used as a protection against chemical weapons or gases.
Some media reports said that the substance had been loaded into bombs for warplanes.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague said on Saturday there was evidence the Syrian government could actually employ chemical weapons against the insurgency as an effort to try and contain the conflict which resulted in the death of 42,000 people in nearly 21 months.

One of the memes of the left is that WP is a chemical agent. It allows them to make the charge that Israel uses “chemical weapons” against the Palis, when they use WP rounds.

If nerve agents were dispersed the container would probably have a bursting charge but it wouldn't be a persistent burn.

There would be no point in burning the agent that is being delivered. Heat degrades/destroys the properties of the chemical weapon, eventually rendering it less potent or harmful.
This is probably only an attempt to drag the US into their war so we can shed more blood for their stinkin’ caliphate.
Let’s see. Assad is somewhat tolerant of Christians and the oppsition isn’t. Let Assad do what ever he wants to stay in power. The fact that Obama is Assad’s and my common enemy is just icing on the cake.

Acually white phosphous does require air to burn. The issue is, it will burn spontainiously in air until you seal it from air. Water, dirt, or retardants have no effect. Not a good thing to have on you.

Didn't one of the major news networks (ABC?) fake film footage during the Bush administration showing innocent civilians fleeing for their lives in Iraq? They used the same woman actress running for her life through the street in every clip - even though the footage was suppose to have been filmed miles apart.
In my opinion, Oboma has been drooling to get us into this mess, but knew the American people wouldn't back him. So far, he's tried "thousands of innocent young people are getting killed!" and "Oh no! They're killing women!" and then on to "Oh! Look! Babies, too!".

It has a flammability rating of 1, not too flammable. That does not mean you couldn’t mix it with NaPalm, but what the article is describing does not sound like chemical weapons.

This might be callous, but I'd like to see about three hundred activist screw-nuts get a taste of the c___ola they're actually fighting for whining continuously about. I remember less than a year ago I posted a murderous battle trying to prove some point that escapes me now about this war Obama has supported via proxies and had quite a few FReepers po'ed and rightly so. But the only ones really getting the raw end in Syria and other areas of the world are Christians, Jews and the weaker muzzards.
I care about the first two groups but after over forty thousand terrorist attacks all over the world in the last decade and seeing them never apologizing, never retreating and continuously tossing out lies and propaganda all I can think of is hell with them. I could care less if they eat poisoned candy when the Jewish buses are blown or they take over Egypt or murder our embassy folks, or murder our Fort Hood soldiers, and no one does a thing.

Did you see this???? I remember months ago a whole town executed - every man, woman and child (maybe a tiny handful of survivors), the claim was the gov side killed them. Truth was the “rebels” executed tham all, I think they were the “wrong” kind of muzzies. And of course claimed Assad’s guys did it.

A graphic video recently posted to YouTube appears to show Syrian rebels forcing a child to behead an unarmed prisoner. The footage has left many questioning whether foreign aid will end up in the hands of Islamist extremists and terrorists.
The video shows a child cutting a bound prisoner’s head off with a machete. Militants then display the man’s severed head while chanting “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is great.”
It’s the latest in a string of especially grisly incidents, which have become more common in recent months. On Monday, rebels killed 13 soldiers during an ambush of an army unit in a strategic northern town, activists reported.
Syrian warplanes later bombed the town, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Both sides have played a role in the deaths of over 40,000 people since the uprising against President Bashar Assad began in March 2011.
