TOP 10 EXCERPTS FROM ZIMMERMAN VS. NBC NEWS COMPLAINT
Breitbart ^ | December 7, 2012 | John Sexton

Posted on 12/08/2012 1:58:08 PM PST by Uncle Chip

On Thursday, George Zimmerman filed suit against NBC News and three NBC producers he accuses of intentionally painting him as a racist. Zimmerman and his attorneys have now done what many in the new media only dream of doing, holding the major media responsible for their biased and misleading output.

The language in the complaint is blunt. It calls NBC's coverage "yellow journalism" and refers to "journalistic crimes." Most broadly, the complaint accuses NBC of trumping up a racism narrative for ratings, with a name check of the Today Show and Rev. Al Sharpton in particular. Here are some of the highlights or, if you prefer, the media's lowlights from the complaint:

1] NBC saw the death of Trayvon Martin not as a tragedy but as an opportunity to increase ratings, and so set about to create the myth that George Zimmerman was a racist and predatory villain. Their goal was simple: keep their viewers alarmed, and thus always watching, by menacing them with a reprehensible series of imaginary and exaggerated racist claims.

2] NBC created this false and defamatory mis-impression using the oldest form of yellow journalism: manipulating Zimmerman's own words, splicing together disparate parts of the recording to create the illusion of statements that Zimmerman never actually made.

3] Defendants pounced on the Zimmerman/Martin matter because they knew this tragedy could be, with proper sensationalizing and manipulation, a racial poweder keg that could result in months, if not years, of topics for their failing news programs, particularly the plummeting ratings for their ailing Today Show.

10] Due to the defendants' journalistic crimes, Zimmerman has been transformed into one of the most hated men in America. Plaintiff seeks substantial compensatory and exemplary damages to punish the defendants for their outrageous fraud upon the public, designed to mislead our nation, create a national uproar, forever ostracize Zimmerman, and taint his jury pool, all to profit and attract attention to their television news programs.

They ought to go after FL prosecutor Angle Cory..

Her witch hunt news conference show trying Z in a news conference setting, while winking and nodding at her news media friends in the audience, was just over the top.

If I were Zimmermann there wouldn’t be enough money on the planet that would compensate me. I would want to own NBC...become the CEO and own every penny of that socialist organization.

I second that.

Don’t settle for less than a seat on the Board, Zimmerman.

Due to the defendants' journalistic crimes,

"Journalistic crimes" has a nice sound to it.

Defined:

journalistic crimes - willful lying by the media establishment to promote radical socialist agendas that causes harm to Constitutional republics and individual rights.

Example. See Chrissy Matthews's MSNBC propaganda show.

I want to see NBC totally humiliated and destroyed with the Zimmerman’s riding with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse over the lying manipulative media Giant.

It may seem trite to use a Comic Book Hero’s words but WORDS do mean something. “With Great Power comes Great Responsibility”. NBC has great power and has used it for ill and to damage and destroy for money and political power, now then their Great Responsibility must come back to haunt them and destroy their power.

Kudos to George Zimmerman! It's long past time for the corrupt, leftist news media to be held accountable for their deliberate lies and manipulation. Because they're all doing the same thing, other media outlets won't seriously address the fraud that was visited upon George Zimmerman when NBC edited, maliciously and deliberately, the 911 call that they used to falsely portray Zimmerman as a racist, 'targeting' the punk, Martin, simply because he was black, when in reality, Zimmerman simply responded to the police dispatchers question as to the race of the man Zimmerman was reporting as suspicious. Even then, Zimmermsn wasn't sure about the guy's race.

This kind of lawsuit should be filed more often against the corrupt media giants when they casually defame an ordinary person to make some biased point but most ordinary folks don't have the resources and are afraid that they'll just make things worse. Zimmerman is fighting back and his attorney's aren't mincing words. Calling out NBC for what it did for ratings and to foster the concept that racists whites are prowling the streets seeking innocent, angelic blacks they can "shoot down like a rabid dog..." according to Rep. Frederica Wilson. (D-FL)

In reality Saint Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman repeatedly bashing his head into the sidewalk according to multiple sources but most Americans probably see Zimmerman as some honky racist who killed some innocent black kid for laughs. I hope Zimmerman wins his suit and NBC has to pay him millions. Now that would be justice!

“”The speculation is that the FBI is close to making the case. They probably have enough to arrest him right now, probably enough to prosecute him, but you always want to have enough to convict him as well. There are still some holes in this case”.”

For that comment by Tom Brokaw, NBC settled with Richard Jewell (accused of being the Atlanta Olympics pipe bomber) for $500,000. CNN also settled, but the Atlanta Journal did not. Janet Reno belatedly apologized for the FBI leak. Richard Jewell was just 44yrs old when he died ten years after the settlement.

Jewell did and Zimmerman will settle rather than going through years of trials and appeals. It would take someone with deep pockets to hold out in order to make the corrupt media pay and think twice about their journalistic malpractice.

The lying media hardly feel these settlements sad to say.
