The White House Correspondents Association is strongly urging the Obama administration to allow press access to the president’s official swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 20, following indications from inauguration committee officials that the event could potentially be closed to the press.
“Mindful of the historic nature of this occasion, we expect the White House will continue the long tradition of opening the President’s official swearing-in to full press access, and we as an organization are looking forward to working with the administration to make that happen,” Ed Henry, the Fox News correspondent and president of the White House Correspondents Association, said in a statement.

if there are ever legal proceedings, having done the swearing in secretly means no witnesses that he ever took the oath of office
(and since it may prove impossible to prosecute an illegal alien for treason, the most obvious alternative charge would be based on violating the oath of office)
recall also that Nancy Pelosi changed the wording of the certification document to avoid saying he met the constitutional qualification for office
these are not stupid people... they know enough at least to try to cover as many of their tracks as they can
similarly, not having a budget for 4 years means there is no statute available to cite on any violation charges (when we finally learn where they took our last $6 Trillion)
He had a public AND a private (no audio) swearing in the first time. Much speculation about it then, but not from the press. Maybe they are a little more curious this time around, some of them having had four years of education, if only by osmosis. Many people on the thread mentioning being sworn in with a Koran, but no one has mentioned the possibility of Obama needing to swear in using a different name--- which was one speculation the first time.

FYI to everyone: I loathe and despise him as much as you do, but the fact is that when the 20th of January falls on a Sunday, the swearing in occurs privately in the WH. There is historic precedent, Zero didn’t just make it up.
