I expect this to hinge on Kennedy however this would go far beyond the overturning of sodomy laws. It is a very big stretch to find a right to gay marriage. It wouldn’t surprise me for them to find it but the very fact that they are taking this up rather than letting appeals court rulings stand suggests there is a very good chance this will be a definitive ruling against the false equality argument. There are no guarantees but this is probably the best chance we have to get a positive ruling.

The fix is in. Roberts and Kennedy will vote for homosexuality and liberalism wins, game - set - match.

You clearly didn’t understand anything I said. No, I did not say that homosexuality is because they were born that way. I said that those (homosexuals) who claim they were born that way are likely suffering from a neurological disorder (that causes them to be physically attracted to the same sex.)

You do not seem to understand the difference between a physical attraction to the same sex and the act itself of having homosexual intercourse.

The act of homosexual intercourse is, of course, sinful. God’s Word tells us that explicitly. In fact, it is an abomination to God. Engaging in homosexual behavior is a lifestyle choice not a neurological disorder.

As I said, I know Christian men who say they are physically attracted to other men and have always felt that way. (i.e. born that way) They didn’t choose to be attracted to other men. They were not abused as children. They did not learn homosexual behavior. They do not engage in homosexual behavior. Some of them have wives, whom they love dearly, and children. They live godly lives. Yet they struggle with a physical attraction to the same sex.

It is that physical attraction to the same sex that I believe could be a neurological disorder.

I didn’t suggest that God made homosexuals to reveal His glory. Again, you clearly misinterpreted everything I said. And Romans 9:19-23 deals with far more than God’s sovereignty and right to rule in our lives. It deals with the idea that God creates each of us for His purpose and that some of us are prepared for glory and some for destruction. Read Romans 9:11-18 to see the context for 9:19-23.

Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!

For he says to Moses,
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

I have confidence that the Supreme Court will make the wrong decision. Get ready for gay marriage in all 50 states.

God’s plan for sexuality

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
—Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)

“And the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’ Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.’ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
—Genesis 2:18-25 (NKJV)

The image of God is both male and female and is reflected in a godly union between male and female where the creative power of God, His life-giving, His self-giving and His moral nature are perfectly expressed. This is only possible in a heterosexual union.

When God created a partner for Adam He created Eve—not another Adam. This means that perfect partnership requires some level of difference as well as a level of similarity so great that Adam could cry out loudly, ”This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”. Sexual intimacy between a man and a woman is the normal method of male/female bonding (emotionally and physically) because it corresponds to the design of our bodies and because it is the normal means by which offspring are created.

If God had intended the human race to be fulfilled through both heterosexual and homosexual marriage, He would have designed our bodies to allow reproduction through both means and made both means of sexual intercourse healthy and natural. Homosexual anal intercourse carries a high risk of disease, this is recognized in Scripture where gay men are said to receive in their bodies the due penalty for their error (Romans 1:27).

After his last severely flawed move, I’m not hopeful this guy will be able to or even willing to pull his head out for this one?

This isn’t even any of the governments buisiness. What gives them the right just to come in and redefine a religious institution in the name of ‘equality’. At least leave it to the states to decide because we all now where this is going to go.

“...After his last severely flawed move, I’m not hopeful this guy will be able to or even willing to pull his head out for this one?..”

I’m not either, D.

He had his one moment to stand up and show what he’s made of - we ALL get that moment, and sometimes it passes by without our even noticing - and he showed EXACTLY what he was made of.

That is to say, not much at all. He caved, and committed us and his country to destruction. Vidkun Quisling and Benedict Arnold could have done no better, and no more complete a betrayal of their people.

I WANT to believe that he did what he did because his family was threatened by these scum, I WANT to believe that they had something over on him, and I WANT to believe that he had no choice...but sometimes, what we want to believe versus what actually is are two different things.

“A coward dies a thousand deaths; a hero dies but once.”

I hope he remembers that saying every time he sees himself staring back at his own reflection in the mirror.

Either way, for what it’s worth, I’ll say a prayer and ask the Lord to help him get his head out of his ass.

Fox News just announced that the SCOTUS will hear these two cases on late March. We can expect a decision sometime thereafter.

“Well, at least we’ll have the gay issues put to bed, so to speak. We’ll know if the people actually have the right to decide what laws they will live under or if the law will be what the aristocrats and oligarchs decide it will be and nothing else, the people’s opinons as expressed through referenda or their legislatures notwithstanding.”

No, it won’t. Next will be the push for affirmative action and equal opportunity. They won’t be happy until they crush all opposition.

I hope their decision is to call this a states’ issue, overturn federal courts’ decisions on gay marriages, and remand back to the state(s) where this issue belongs.
