Hensarling: ‘I’m offended’ Boehner purged Jones, Schweikert without notice

Rep. Jeb Hensarling — the incoming chairman of the House Committee on Financial Services — told Rep. Walter Jones earlier this week that he was “offended” by the House leadership’s decision to purge several Republicans from their committee positions without even notifying them.

Jones relayed that conversation in an interview that aired Thursday night on WTKF’s “Viewpoints” radio program in eastern North Carolina.

Speaking to host Lockwood Phillips, Jones described how he discovered he had been kicked off the financial services committee and the reaction he received from Hensarling.

“I will tell you that yesterday the incoming chairman of the financial services committee, which is the committee that I, along with [a] congressman from Arizona named Dave Schweikert — the two of us were removed,” Jones explained, “and I did not receive a call from anyone. I had to find that out on the Internet — at least my staff did.”

“And yesterday, the incoming chairman, who is named Jeb Hensarling, called me on the floor and said, ‘Walter, I want you to know I knew nothing about this.’ And he’s made these statements public and been critical of Boehner for not even consulting the incoming chairman of the financial service committee,” Jones continued.

“And he said, ‘Walter, I had nothing to do with this.’ He said, ‘I’m offended that you and Schweikert have been put off the committee’ and he said, ‘I don’t know what I can do, but,’ he said, ‘I will tell you this’ — and I say this modestly, I really do — he said, of the 435 members, if I had to pick the top five that I think are the most ethical in Congress, you would be in the top five,’” Jones said, characterizing Hensarling’s remarks.

Bloomberg News reported Thursday that Jones was among four Republicans removed from their committee positions “because they weren’t regarded as team players,” according to a House Republican leadership aide.

Interesting that Hensarling offers Jones no explanation of how this happened. So my question for Hensarling is tell us what u know about this
purge.
If u were not involved, tell us who was.

So ... just how “offended” are you (Hensarling) ... really. Offended enough for a new Speaker?

At the moment Boehner's hamhanded methods have made it seem as if HE's not a team player.

That's usually a bad sign in a Speaker ~ kind of like when Hastert had pretty much been told he had to clear the perverts out of the House and he sent a top staff guy, who was homosexual himself, to do the job.

Nobody had confidence in him at that point. Most likely Boehner doesn't have sufficient confidence among the House members to conduct real business.

I trust Hensnarling as much as I trust Boehner...remember when Boehner used Hensnarling to freeze Michelle Bachmann out of a key Caucus leadership position?

In the meantime, new Vice President Boehner and President Zero are "negotiating" in a locked room by themselves:

In Talks on a Budget Deal, Boehner and Obama Stand Alone (Boehner excludes party from negotiations)

The whole point of the purge was to clear the way on the budget committees for the Republicans to rubber stamp whatever sorry deal Boehner works out with his boss.

So, if Boner had purged them with notice it would be better?

Bonehead and the DC Party of Big Government will be the only winners.
Conservatives who are forced to vote the coming Tax Increases, along
with the conservative movement will be the losers.
Many of these conservatives, who vote for these Tax increases will not
survive the 2014 elections.

Boehner’s actions have made this life-long Conservative and registered Republican decide it finally is time to cut the cord. So, I will be changing my party affiliation from Republican to non-affiliated. If the Tea Party or any other conservative group are able to form a formal political party in the future, I will register with them.

As for that weeping, sad sack, smoking, golfing do-nothing of a House Speaker who goes by the name of John Boehner, AKA Obama Azz Kisser, I have two words for him, and they are not Happy Birthday.

I think Jeb might be sensing mutiny in the wind and maybe he could be put up for Speaker. Actually he wouldn’t be the worst choice. It’s not his fault he got picked over Michelle Bachman for 4th position in the leadership.

Whoever they put up to replace Tammy Faye will have to get 218 votes so its not going to be the most conservative rep in the House. Its going to be somebody in the middle. I coule live with anybody except Boehner, Cantor or McCarthy.

But I thought Hensarling was on Boehner’s committee? You know, the one on which Boehner gets five votes and Cantor gets two votes.

Gee, maybe if they wouldn’t continue to support Boehner for Maj. Leader they wouldn’t have this problem.

Some of them like to lecture the American voter that “elections have consequences” when they allow Obama to continually get his way.

Maybe it had to do more with Bachmann's habitual lying that led to her not getting that position.

Jeb, ol’ buddy...

We’re ALL offended.

YOU’RE in a position to DO something about it.

So do it. Whatever it takes to remove the guy, do it.

When I see that name [Hensarling], I can’t help it.

My first thought is that Van Helsing is probably the only person that could clean up Washington.

Don’t hold your breath. The beltway GOP criers and quitters aren’t up to the task in these historic times.

LOL. Not sure if you forgot the sarc tag or if you are implying that Boner and his followers are not liars. That’s funny either way.

Bachmann will not fall in line and will probably lead an insurgency against Boner. She may or may not succeed but Boner will get hurt and will likely cry in public again.

How, really, could Boehner be one to object to lying?
