Zero Hedge ^

Looks like Sandy was not an issue at all in the November jobs report which beat in both the number of jobs added, at 146,000 on expectations of 85,000, while the unemployment rate declined to 7.7% from 7.9%, where it was expected to post as well. Watch this space next month for prio revisions: September and October saw 49K downward revisions combined. November will suffer the same fate.

“Confused why the unemployment rate dropped? The same, favorite BLS adjustment - a drop in the labor force participation rate which declined by 0.2% to 63.6% once again, as the number of people out of the labor increased by over 540K to 88,883,000.”

Another 350,000 workers magically disappeared from the work force or this would have been another disastrous report. Is there a total number of these workers who have disappeared since Obama took office?

The communists are still in campaign mode. They’ve got to make Barry Benghazi look good for the current “cliff” battle. I sure wish the average I.Q. of the people living in this country was just a few points higher. This wouldn’t be so easy for the communists to pull off. If chimpanzees could talk, I know they wouldn’t be falling for this.

Thank you. I knew some FReeper would know the answer to my question. CNBC gave today’s number of “missing” workers as 350K, but they are part of the NBC ObamaBot cult, so your number is probably more valid.

Only 350,000 dropped out of the labor force last month. That’s a lot of new “disability” claims.

Same number of people employed as 1980?

1980 US population 227 million

2010 US population 308 million

that's 35% more people and the SAME NUMBER EMPLOYED?

How do 35% more people not work then in 1980?

AND Sept/Oct was revised, 50,000 less jobs than reported. Therefore it offset the number of jobs that increased over analysis expectation for Nov. yet the rate goes down. Broom Hilda Solis needs to be called to Capitol Hill and grilled.

I laugh more at some of these pundits on CNBC than I do watching Comedy Central. The spin is out of control

More corrupt Obama number crunching. The adjustments will get made, and unemployment will “explode”, shortly after we go off the fiscal cliff and the Republicans start getting the blame.

What types of jobs are included? Are they good paying, permanent? Are there any career types of jobs included? So many questions so few answers.

If you pull up the page ,,, “Daily Job Cuts.Com” and follow the timeline from Sept 2012 to date you will find it very hard to believe the U/E rate is dropping . This site includes daily layoffs , businesses filing for bankruptcy and closings . Even the amount of people being hired for temporary employement at xmas time may not account for the decline in U/E claims being shown to date . Something very fishy in Denmark .

...a drop in the labor force participation rate which declined by 0.2% to 63.6%...number of people out of the labor increased by over 540K to 88,883,000.

By that standard, when that 63.6% drops to ZERO, we will have 100% employment.......
